Re: kids learning Hi, My little one was introduced to phonics first, to read the sound the letters make. Then she was taught to read the letters. Like when she sees the letter 'r' - she will read it as "rrr" sound, then she learnt to read it as letter 'r'. Hence, when it came to reading words, it was splitting and sounding out the word. That way they will know the rule to spell words easily too. Is this what you were asking?
Re: kids learning Yes, Thanks for the info. My son is 3 and half now and he knows to read letters and he does know phonics as well. Iam wondering if this is the right time to start teaching him to read words... do you know any suggestions or methods...
