    hi Huma,
    my cousin learned french after completing mba for job purpose. we are north indians and my husband too north indian but he was born and brought up in Andhra Vijaywada, his family follows all andhra culture speaking, family functions, even eating habit. Finally we are going to settle in Vijaywada. I too like all this now. i understand tamil, telugu, marathi, gujrati, punjabi, bengali,rajasthani but not perfectly, actually i have spend my childhood travelling different parts of india.

    so what we should start now, u want some spices name--

    coriander--dha-ni-ya
    cinnamon--daa-l-chi-ni
    cardamom--el-ai-chi
    cloves--la-va-ng
    saffron--ke-sa-r
    bayleaves--te-ja-pa-tta
    cumin--zee-ra
    fenugreek--me-thi
    asafoetida--hee-ng
    turmeric--ha-l-di
    salt--na-ma-k
    chilly--mi-r-ch

    now u ask i don't remember

    u ask further but generally people understand colors in english better

    hi Huma,

    i am ok but lonely, thanks to net connection and some sites. Here i don't know any indian one ot two i saw in indian restaurant after that i didn't see anybody. i am alone actually where i am staying that is developing industrial area gradually foreigners are increasing. it will take sometime when i can see indian residing in our area.

    u didn't give me another topic for hindi words waiting for homework.

    Hi Huma.....Pushpa butting in :tongue

    I don't watch Rajnikanth movies. Some how I don't like his loud mannerisms and gaudy make up. Forgive me if I had uppset you. My favorite hero used to be chiranjeevi before he started using his hairpiece. Due to not many telugu dvd not having subtitles all our desi movie watching tends to get limited to hindi movies except when only me & DH watch.

    Padma amazing that even you don't know thigh in hindi...it is at the tip of my tongue but cant get it. Now-a-days it is happening to a lot of telugu words to me.

    Yes i remember:2thumbsup: (i think)

    thigh = jaandh (jaa n dh)
