Another popular natural treatment for acne is tea tree oil. Tea tree oil acts like an antiseptic and disinfects the pores. In addition, it helps kill the bacteria that cause acne. Just apply one drop of tree tea oil to the affected area three times a day.

    Hi Stephanie

    Thanks for the informative post.

Tea Tree oil should never apply to skin directly is what i read in instructions. It must mix up with any other oil or gel as carrier to use it on skin.

I used tea tree oil before; however I will use it on a regular basis now.

I would just add that I always put the tea tree oil on to a cottonwool bud prior to applying rather than using fingers which might be dirty.

Mrunalini01 where did you read these instructions? I have never seen or heard this before.

    Yes @Lin1321

Once i bought Emami brand Tea tree oil and inside the pack I found instructions which says that it irritates skin if applied directly hence carrier oil should be mixed before using Tea tree oil.

Correct me if that's not true

mrunalini01 sorry to take so long before responding but I wanted to be 100% in my response. I Googled "Optima tea tree oil" and as I had bought the product from Holland & Barrett I chose Australian Tea Tree Optima Australian Antiseptic Tea Tree Oil | Holland & Barrett - the UK's Leading Health Retailer and if you hit the "description" tab you will be able to read all about it. I confirm that I only use one drop on a cottonwool bud and I have never mixed it with a carrier oil, unless you want to use it for massage. Hope this answers your question.
