Hi all, Anybody familiar with making masala tea? Need tips. My usual ingredients for masala tea used to be 1/2 inch ginger (smashed) + 2 elaichis(powdered) to the usual mix of tea powder + sugar + water + milk. Is there anything else that needs to be added to make it more flavored? Love, Vinu
You can also add powdered cinnamom and 2 to 3 crushed black pepper to make masala tea. While cardamom and cinnamon gives good flavor to masala tea, ginger and black pepper are good for stimulating digestion.
Yet another tea masala quick tea masala pepper – 1 tsp cinnamon – 7 one inch pieces cloves – 8 cardamom – 8 dry ginger – 1”piece nutmeg ½ of a small one Dry & powder. Add 1/4 tsp per cup.

Re: Masala Tea Hello! Are there any green tea drinkers here? We have started on green tea since 1 month and it is a developed taste! Green tea is said to contain powerful anti-oxidants, helps in lowering blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol, kills bacteria that cause stomach upsets, etc. No milk should be added to the tea decoction, because milk destroys the good characteristics of the tea. I am a diabetic, so I add a little bit dried ginger-dhania seeds-pepper powder and drink it. My husband takes it with a spoon of honey or palm jaggery [panaivellum] syrup - tastes good. SubhaD
Re: Masala Tea Green tea is quite popular here and many have opted for it instead of our regular tea. Me being the eternal skeptic, would suggest that it is better to consume everything within a certain limit. Better not overdo anything for another study might pop up belying the already existing beliefs. L, Kamla

Dry all the ingredients together and make powder. Store in an airtight container.Add 1/4 sp to 1 cup of tea. Actually, sauf & tulasi leaves give verygood taste and aroma. You can even avoid adding tulasi leaves to the powder and add few fresh tulasi leaves while tea is boiling alog with the tea masala. I do this regularly at home and it gives a very refreshing feeling. Please try this nd give me feedback. Takecare, Prema
