8th is good and proper time to come back in my opinion as 9th and 10th will be crucial....but the decision should be discussed with your daughter..is she willing to leave her friends..and all...

We prepared our kids...all along..we used to iterate that we will be back to india any time..so they were kind of not too attached..they do have friends there whom they are in touch through mails...

Both my kids have adjusted quite well academically, language and other activities...so all the best to you....

Nice thread. What better platform..to share our kids talents...

I have a son and daughter..daughter is 12 and son is 9 years old.

Daughter - I have already told enough about her. she is very good academically. She has a purple belt in karate (discontinued right now for want of good master).
She plays the keyboard and we are encouraging her to take the royal school of music exams.. she is also learning carnatic vocal. and then draws well..

Son-- My son is intelligent according to his school. he plays chess. he also has purple belt in karate. he is learning carnatic vocal. he draws cartoons mostly of ninjas, superman and then cricket. he goes for cricket coaching. He has read the mahabaratha and ramayana thoroughly and can keep us engaged talking about that. and he is a voracious reader and also absorbs what he reads and retains it. And has plans to save earth from the greenhouse effect. his ambition is to be a cricketer and also a rock scientist (before it was cooker:mrgreen: i mean chef)
The only problem we face with him is his brain works faster than his hand..so by the times he skips lot of words..(which is not good from the exam point:bangcomp.. I would like suggestions on how to control this...

Dear Shanthi,
:hatsoffto your children. I have one idea for your son. Ash him to think in English and then answer. What I mean is generally what ever be the condition, we used to think first in our Mother tongue is it not? ask him to think in some other language like English or Hindi and then ask him to give answer. You can tell him this will improve his knowledge of that particular language. Naturally he will think a little bit and then he will try to answer. So the time gap will reduce his fast.
If you feel this is ok, try with him and tell me the result. All the best for you and your Super fast boy.

Thank you prabha bala for the initiative to let us know the talents of our members wards & specialities.....

Glad to know about an upcoming Artist Master Krishna son of latamurali.
Our Indus family of friends do wish him more success in studies and extra curricular activities.

Hope here the parents too can share about their kids...If permitted I as a father would like to share about my daughter Vijayalakshmi who is doing her MBA final year at DJ acadamy of managerial excellence , Coimbatore.
She was a hard working and devoted student and stood as a collage topper...
I have never seen her go to bed before 02 hours midnight as she used to prepare for her assignments and seminar papers.
She is also a good singer in carnatic music.

My son Ramanathan a 2nd year Visual Communication student and has interests in Mass media presentations, Reviews on latest electronic gadgets and a sports man plays for his collage football team, a student scoring 75 + in his exams, A Good photographer too..

By God's grace I am a satisfied father to see the kids performance & seek your blessings too.

Thanks krishnamma. will try. but have to think about it..the problem is he thinks in english and translates into other languages... will definitely try it out ...thanks for you wishes once again..

Very good morning HAV A NICE DAY

Even my son got in KARATE - ORANGE BELT and he also participated in KARATE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT , a month before, he perfofmed well in the first two rounds and got eleminated jus bcos he didFOUL PLAY :bangcomp: (fails to follow rules properly due to childishness) ,but HIS TOTAL PERFORMANCE WAS REALLY GOOD, if he follow the rules properly def'ly he will get GOLD MEDAL in the next tournament :2thumbsup:

And, he was learning KEYBOARD and know to play tunes for some Cine songs,2 Keerthanais,All rhymes,Happy birthday tune and NATIONAL ANTHEM:-D but the master stopped the class in the middle :-( due to his new job , till this date iam searching for GOOD MASTER TO TEACH KEYBOARD, My hubby immidiately purchase big YAMAHA KEYBOARD FOR 10K

He is ACADEMICALLY TOO GOOD IN STUDIES AND HE IS AN OUTSTANDING PERFORMER IN HIS SCHOOL AND FROM KG TO 3RD STD HE CAME FIRST IN ALL EVENTS IN SPORTS ALSO:2thumbsup: :2thumbsup: :-D :-D

HIS HANDWRITING IS VERY EXCELLENT (Kanula othikalam pola erukkum)

But, all the extra classes, he attented, JUST FOR MY "PIDUNGAL" and he DOESNOT HAVE ANY INTEREST BY HIS OWN:bangcomp: :-(

I DONT KNOW Y :idontgetit: but though he went for me , whatever he learns HE WILL EXCEL in that and get appreciation from the Masters

I want my son to learn everything(like all parents ) , only alternative days classes will be there ,thattoo, everything will be over by 7pm , so he has enough time to play.watch tv etc..and he does not have any severe homework
also, in that case, why he refuse to learn something extra.

IAM CONFUSED, WHETHER HE IS RIGHT OR WRONG ., doing anything by comopulsion, will lose interest ,at a point of time:icon_frown: :icon_frown:

And. i have also started a thread for knowing about extra classes and all the details about it FINE ARTS CLASSESS - VENUE

Thank u very much for encouraging words...........but he is not at all interested in cinema .........or hearing songs etc......but iam searching for good Keyboard master ...........

Iam not pudungifying him for anything now-a-days.........now iam very clear that i cant compel or force him for anything.....
