Take A Stand Or?

    Get up and take a stand or stay in the middle?

    In any issue there are two sides- right and the wrong. Both cannot be right or wrong at the same time. It is a choice we make or have to make. Those in the right represent the ultimate truth but those in the wrong are not totally wrong as they still retain some respect for the truth and are ready to accept the responsibility of their choice. And, there are some who are in the middle. They own or accept any responsibility.

    That's an evil. But….

    The question, however, arises, what is the truth? Is truth relative? Should not we give an allowance to those in the middle to remain uncertain and uncommitted ? In any case, the truth will prevail in the end and one side will be proved wrong and at that time, they can say they made a right choice by staying in the middle.

    Dear Hariji,
    First part is right.
    Regarding the middle one have their own logic. They may not be sure which is truth and which is not. So keep mum. Or if both sides are friends they do not displease anyone. And as you said in the end they can say they made a right choice by being in the middle. What about the "inner voice". They ask it to keep quiet for a while.

    :hello:When a vacillating PM questioned by a journalist as to why he never takes or conveys his decision, the PM responded,
    " taking no decision is also a decision".
    You guess who was that.
    I know right but still I would prefer to go wrong or with wrong as it is safer to go with majority as in democracy. Cat on the wall or fence sitters would be waiting for better opportunities in terms of position power and pelp.

    As it is, sometimes, it is too difficult to judge what is right or wrong. We have no choice but to listen to our conscience and take a stand.
    However, there are people who stand in the middle either because they are not sure, or there is conflict of mind and conscience. Here is the danger. Eventually, some people stand on one side and others on the other side. These people in the middle look for the majority and somehow believe that if majority must be right and join them even if the majority may be wrong.
    There still be people who have an opinion but keep quiet for various reasons.

    Exactly. That is what happens. Those in the middle are likely to be siding with the wrong because majority can be wrong. Suppose out 100, 60 are on one side and 30 on the other side and 10 in the middle. some of these 10 guys are likely to join the 60 because they think majority must be right. Thus they become 70. It is quite possible that they are wrong but came on one side because of some ulterior motive or simply got misguided.
