    this is very common style. However, i have not checked out stores in ages for formal clothes.
    One thing - if you plan to buy 2 things separate, sweater and shirt, go with shirt size smaller and sweater size bigger to get better fit. Also depends on your size/body type and how you want to look.
    I could never carry off this look with 2 separate pieces, it makes me look bigger. As with fake collars or attached, there is no inner extra bulk.
