Hi Ladies, I plan on taking on PMP certification in Jun or Jul 2011. Anyone else with a similar midset. I will be gr8 to have a study buddy to share notes and keep up the morale Thanks IL1
Do u mean 2012. I have a clarification. I have 5 years of IT experience, I was working as SE with coding and testing exp. Now I am on H4, Is it possible for me do PMP now ? Pls clarify
I don't think people on H4 visa can take PMP certification. They need to be working in a company while taking the test. It will be helpful if you become a member of the PMI chapter. I took this exam 7 years back and I am not sure what the rules are now... --Bubai
I would also be interested to do... I can join.. i was planning to do it for a long time but have not started seriously... Let us discuss how we can start... what to go with..
Thank you ladies for responding Sangea - I'm pretty sure you can get a PMP certification ad I know people on H4 who got a university degree. You cant work with a H4 but you can study. You can check out the eligibility requirements at http://www.pmi.org/~/media/PDF/Certifications/pdc_pmphandbook.ashx Npri-Great.Lets start Orion80- Thanks a lot for the offer to help One quick question. I plan to get the PMI membership first and after a couple of weeks apply for the PMP exam(as i'm not ready with the application) If I do it that way will i still get the discount to take the PMP exam. Also how did you go about getting your application done. This is my biggest hurdle for me now
PMI membership is valid for an year and renewable. The discount is applicable as long as you are a PMI member. Application is the most tedious part I saw the application form fields and requirements, collected the data and filled the application form. It took me about 1.5 hours. One of my colleague took about 6 hrs to fill his application form!!
