A 10-year-old girl eloped with a 16-year-old boy in Gujarat after they connected on Instagram. However, the police apprehended them from a nearby village just hours after the girl's family lodged a complaint. Both minors have been sent to a juvenile home.

On December 31, the 10-year-old, a Class 5 student, went missing from her home in Dhansura village. After hours of fruitless searching, her family filed a police complaint, alleging that the girl had been kidnapped.

During the investigation, the police discovered that the two minors had met on Instagram and fallen in love. On the same day, they devised a plan to elope, aided by three of their friends.

Interestingly, the girl’s father is unfamiliar with social media. Police revealed that the girl accessed Instagram through her mother’s phone, where she connected with the boy from another village. The two frequently spoke over the phone.

Once the complaint was filed, the police quickly located the girl and reunited her with her family. A case has been registered following the family’s allegations.
