Dear Sriniketan,

The words and feelings are even more poignant when they are expressed spontaneously and when you are least expecting it. Speaking for myself, as a child, I was quite reserved and found it difficult to tell my parents how much I loved them and appreciated all that they did for me. It was much later, much after my son was born and I grew out of my shyness that I could speak openly and freely with them. I'm really glad they knew that they were very special to me, in fact the Best. (Sadly, they passed away a few years ago).

Dear Lalitha,

It does feel great when our children express their feelings for us parents openly and unselfconsciously. One of the best ways to get closer to them is to set aside some quality time for them, before their bedtime is best, as you have said, so we can exchange the day's happenings and they will also confide in us if they have any problems or questions.

Si Mata is the one who gives us the strength to carry on day after day...
