    Hi All

I am new to Mumbai. And its raining on a regular basis.
The clothes see no sunlight and hence there is always a stinky smell at home

How to get rid of this?!!!
I have started using roomsprays but it wont stay long.

Another problem is because of the smell caused by my LO's bedwetting.

I do use quick dry sheets on bed at nite but still sometimes she goes off the sheet. So that smell too remains and we are not able to dry as we dont even see the sun for 10-15 min per day.

    Please ladies help me

Ladies in Mumbai...how do u manage?

Use dehumidifier a at home. A bowl of charcoal kept out of reach works wonders. Also a bowl of rock salt absorbs moisture. Scented candles might work. You also get commercially made dehumidifying eggs etc. check them out.

An electric dehumidifier would be good but the most effective ones make a lot of noise. Use extract fans for the kitchen and bathrooms so steam can escape.

I'm not sure how old your child is, would pull up nappies at night work? There is some remedy which uses baking soda to remove such smells - perhaps you could check up on the net.

That is how Mumbai rains are ! They don't stop for days ! The only way , we dry cloths in Mumbai is by means of a cloth dryer (shown in the photo), and putting it under fan. Only by fan's air, it dries, in monsoon days.

Night , as such we need fan to sleep. This cloth drier will also be under the fan, next day morning, dresses would be almost dry.

    thank u so much
a dehumidifier costs like a 25000 rupees, i think drying clothes under fan and a charcoal pot will work better

I also agree..it is best to dry partially dried clothes under the fan. But also try and use the spinner of your washing machine first

    Hi Swaran,
Don't worry about stench smell. As you know that the reason of this smell is moisture of cloths and environment. So you have to use vinegar with everyday wash.

After washing soak the washed cloth in hot water with 1/2 cup of vinegar. Leave them for for an hour then squeeze them with hands or washing machine. Then make them dry under fan.

No more stench smell now and your clothes will be more fresh.
