Starting solids: 4-6 months

    hello friends

    I am a mom of 6 month old boy, I give him bf, nestum rice in the morning, apple/carrot pureein the afternoon, bf, nestum rice. Is it ok, enough or should I give him some thing more healthy.

    I have another juice what type of fruit juice I can give him now??Help me mommies..what you gals give to ur babies share the menu here...

    Dear All,

    I read all postings. all r easy to prepare and its digestable for baby. My baby is 5 months old.. Doctor prescribed to give the same food of urs after 6 months. Till that only mother's milk

    Am thinking of starting cereals for my 4 month old, but confused on whether to use feeding bottles or cup-spoon .

    can you please share your experience, pros / cons .

    I also need the ratio that you used , milk :cereal . what consistency should this be ?
    something like yoplait yogurt consistency will work ?
    or should it be like milkshake consistency ?

    I started with solids when my son was 4 months. I started with gerber rice cereal...
    as u said I give him in a yogurt consistency. we will get used to the ratio and consistency as we go.

    He's getting very playful.
    Started solids for him .. now am getting bored of Purees.. Wondering what else to feed him . Have tried purees, rice cereal , rice-cereal with moong-dhal water .

    I did try cerelac stage 1 but he started getting some rashes so I stopped it for now.

    i m a north indian currently staying in HYderabad... my DD is 5.5 mnths....she is on breast feed...now started sm moong dal water, apple juice & smtime mashed banana....i hv read so much abt Ragi here... i hv never used it b4 but i want to give it to my LO.... i hv seen Ragi powder in d store... but dnt know hw to use it.... can smone help me in this by giving a simple tips & receipe... like ragi halwa..hw to make it...wht other i can start....she is nt taking formula milk also...wht should i do for this also....
