    Dear Friends,
I do have a sprout maker - but in my personal opinion (strictly), a hot case or casserole serves the purpose far better. I soak moong etc for 8 hrs, drain completely & put in the casserole or hot case. It sprouts very well.
Channa etc take along time to sprout & not always successful. With sprout maker also, the same problem continues.
The best to sprout at home are whole moong, mot, methi & horesegram. The last 2 take longer to sprout, but do well.I nomore use my sprout maker.
    Love,
    Chithra.

Thanks to everyone who participated in this thread. Its been a while I logged on to this website.Bow

I really liked the idea of using casserole for sprouting. I soak moon for about12 hrs, drain water and let it stand for 2 hrs and then tie them in a cloth and keep in a box. After 24hrs they have sprouted well .
Was just wondering if the sprout maker makes the job easier or faster but seems thats the same as doing it my way.

    Thanks
    Kwathi

    Hi Ladies,

Here is my version. I use to soak and after draining I will just put them in a plastic box and keep it in the fridge. That is all the next day you can take your sprout. Fenugreek and Green moong will sprout very quickly.

    Hi Krishnamma:

How do they sprout if you keep the soaked seeds in the fridge? If they do how long does it take?
