    Chocolate,

    The Kitchenaid spice grinder that I mentioned has a detachable steel jar, although it is on the pricier side. You will find it in Target.

    I dont mind if its a little pricier. Can I grind Chutneys in that. I am a very poor cook and my chutney is horrible here.
    Any inputs.

    Hi Chocolate,

    You can grind chutneys well. But with any Coffee grinder, use water sparingly. Because they are meant for dry grinding.

    Thanks. Also have you tried making chutneys with it. I dont make it frequently but would like to make it when i make dosas or idlis.Any inputs.

    I grind chutneys in the coffee grinder. I make mint chutney, coconut chutney and other vegetable chutneys.

    Nivedi,Thanks for your post. I bought the Kitchen Aid coffee grinder and made coconut chutney and i should say it was very nice. My husband loved it and me too. Thanks for posting about it.

    Nivedi I saw kitchen aid at target. It s nice.
    Comparing the two currently. MR.coffee and Kitchen aid.
    Any inputs.

    Chocolate is the lead thing and about pregnant women about Mr. Coffee ?

    I intend to buy mixie next december, but want spice grinder before.
    Which one you guys think I should be going for.

    If one gets ordinary Indian mixie, will the spice grinder not go waste ?
