    Thanks For The Clarification!

    Dear Chitra,
That the enemies refer to internal enemies is a good explanation. I don't have access to a proper guru. I heard somebody saying about that mantra and I just wanted to share my concern that's all.
Please go ahead and post the slokas.
God is all love, Chitra. Even if the form of God bears deadly weapons, it is still an act of love. The Omnipotent God (Goddess, I mean) need not carry any weapon. Just by a flash of thought She can destroy a billion universes and by another flash create a trillion of them. But She appears with weapons and apparently in a violent form because we frail human beings, devoid of real intelligence want to have some direct evidence of Her powers.
There is an Amman Temple near Coimbatore. There is a special worship for shatru nasham there. People who pray that their enemies should be destroyed (Imean external enemies) buy a few kilogrammes of red chilli, grind it , make into a paste and apply it on Amman Herself. As the Goddess feels the heat the enemies of the devotee will be destroyed.
I was taken aback by this crude form of worship, though.
As we pray to Prathyankara Devi let's remember that She is the very form and the very substance of love. And even when we are dealing with our internal enemies, let no violence enter our mind.
    regards,
    sridhar

    Hello Vidya !

By Devi's grace, tomorrow, I hope to finish soundaryalahari.
Then I will post Prathyangira shlokams, now that Sridhar has given clearance as well !
Most of the shlokams that come in magazines consist of beeja mantrams which can be chanted only with upadesham. Most of them are in tamil & I get a lot of doubts in words. But I do have a good collection & I plan to post them for the interested few like you ! It is my pleasure, Vidya !
    Love & regards,
    Chithra.

Wow...How did I miss this forum.

    Hi Chitra Mami,

How are you doing? I am a regular visitor to your recipes forum. I have a bookmark directly to your recipes and hardly go anywhere else in IL. I realise what a mistake I have done. The little time I get to browse, its just on the new recipes you have posted. Most of the times I dont contribute also, just read and try.. Sorry abt that.

It was through the IL Newsletter that I realised this Holy Forum and I am so glad I have discovered this today.

My mom keeps wondering why I dont ask her for recipes anymore, and I told her about this site. She is not conversant with English or computers, so now she bugs my SIL to get her recipes from your site.

With this holy forum, You indeed have become a part of our family. I have shared your forum with many of my friends who are now regular visitor to this forum.

Thanks Mrs Chitra. Your are indeed incredible.

Also, like in SL, are there any specific slokas that we can chant from Vishnu Sahasranamam on a daily basis. Also, are there any special slokas for pregnant women. and are there any ones that should not be chanted by pregnant women.

    Have a wonderful day .
    Rgds

    Dear Sumok,

I saw yr mail to Mrs Chithra and thought would reply since it is night for her now. Sorry for butting in betn the two of you.

In this thread- Messages 1, 30 and 33 have Vishnu Sahasranamam slokams with specific phalams.

Mrs Chithra has also posted a slokam for easy delivery in this forum.

I am told by my Guru that the 44rth naamam SREE VIDHATRE NAMAHA in Vishnu Sahsaranaamam can be chanted by pregnant women to protect the foetus and prevent miscarriage.

This upadesham as given by Shivan to Parvati is quoted below. This is drawn from the magazine published by Chilkur Balaji Temple, in Hyderabad.

"He (Shivan) said `Om Vidhatre Namaha'. Lord Narayana is called VIDHATA
because he impregnated the moolaprakriti with the foetus of Lord
Brahma and looked at Brahma when he was being developed from the
foetus stage. The Upanishads say that He looked at Brahma with mercy and the foetus developed into four-headed creation deity. Veda Vyasa is our amsaavatara of Lord Narayana.

If one would chant this mantra with absolute faith, all the good
desire of his, in the form of foetus in mind, will take sound
    concrete shape.

Pregnant women would do well on chanting this name of Lord Vidhata to avoid abortion, caesarean and to have safe delivery of bonny babies."

So saying, Lord Parameswara chanted "Om Vidhaatre Namaha".

    Oh Vidya Thanks,

I am so glad to read your reply. Please dont say you are butting in. Infact we are all here to share and I think in this forum and the recipes forum we are used to address it to Chitra Mami as a mark of respect and that we def consider her the ultimate for suggestions.

So, what you say is jsut chat " Sri Vidhatre Naham'.
How many times. Morning, Night ?
