Source of Protein in Vegetarian diet

    I was lacking in protein. And this what I did as per my gynec's advice.

    Included atleast one lentil in my diet everyday. The most frequent one's or whole Urad dhal and Toor Dhal, followed by MoongDhal. I also used Quinoa seeds to a great extent, this is a very rich protein for vegetarains. The tamil name for this is 'Thinnai'.

    Also try to restrict processed intake of Soya. Try to go for Soya bean in form of sundal. You can google about processed soya to give you an insight as why we should not consume processed soya. I know every food in take of ours have a pro and con,but I feel taking it in salad form will help in better protein intake.

    Thank you Radha. Here, where I stay, the soya in its original form is not available. So I have to depend on the processed one only :(

    Where do you get this Quinoa seeds.( 'Thinnai').How to cook them?
    What test did you take to find out protein deficiency?

    dear kAlyaniShAnti , the amount of protein to be consumed per day depends upon several factors (age , weather , location and underlying disorders etc) so for that ask your consulting doctor

    the answer to your query reagarding high protein from a veg.diet is TOFU( it is a cheese being prepared from soya) cherries , small brinjals ,soya food

    and you can also use supplements from AMYAY , nutrilite protein which itself contains good quality protein

    Oatmeal
    slice of whole wheat bread
    Brown rice
    Almonds
    Peanut Butter
    Cashews
    Spinach cooked
