    Hi friends

    We are on our feet all day but we don't look after them too well. Here are some of the problems you should watch out for......

    Common problems.....

    Plantar fasciitis......This excruciating pain in the heel or arch of the foot is often the result of 30-odd years of wearing the wrong shoes, which can overstretch the ligaments in the arch of the foot, making the foot flatten. It can also be caused by a bunion, which can make you walk on the side of the foot....Fortunately, the condition usually gets better if you wear insoles. These will give the foot the extra support it needs.

    Bunions
    Sore bumps on the joint that connect the big toe to the foot tend to run in families. So if your mother or grandmother had bunions you may have them, too. You can make things more comfortable by wearing wider-toed shoes with laces or straps, so that that foot says in the right place. Sometimes surgery may be necessary.

    Metatarsalgia
    Pain under the front of the foot is usually caused by the inflammation of a nerve as it gets trapped just behind the toes in the ball of the foot. This is very often the result of wearing high-heeled shoes. We tend to buy these half a size smaller, so that they don't slip, but this squashes the toes. The pain is either very sharp and stabbing or it may start as pins and needles.

    Treatment usually involves an insole with the pad placed just behind the ball of the foot to relieve the pressure.

    I use sneakers now a days while walking. I see the lots of improvements with heels pain.
