A caution about Mint, you have to link all your accounts in one place, it’s risky if the data gets breached. Credit cards give you a good breakdown of your expenses by each category, if you want to track the items that you paid by cash then you can use a mobile app like Smart Receipts.
To me Credit Cards are a gold mine in a year I get back on an average $5000 equivalent value from credit card.
Are you asking about Credit Card ? I have the Citi® / AAdvantage®Platinum Select®World Elite™ Mastercard® It has a $99 annual fee but you get 50000 AA pints which you can redeem for flights.
I have narrowed down purchases to only one credit card this month and one for other half. This is easier to analyze. I find the tools provided by CC company to be good enough for analyzing the expenses. I'm tracking fixed expense like cost of sports class, gym membership, HOA and all those under excel sheet. I don't see any cash back in my CC. I have applied for discover .The cash back ranges from 1-5% . If anyone has better suggestion please post it here.
Cash back is the lowest payback in credit card, start collecting points like Chase ultimate rewards so that you can redeem it for multiple things including travel.
thank you . I dont travel lot but looking at good cash back cards out of regular expenses . Last year I had received points for 300$ worth cash back on my american express blue card . My major expenses are child care and merchandise / groceries etc . sorry mangai to hijack your thread with my doubts .
