    Dear Sridhar,
That was a great piece to ponder upon for weeks together, especially for the young and energetic ones! Some young ones may label it ás middle-aged man's laments. But our Ilites cannot be counted in that lot! Made a wonderful reading to start the week with.
    Love

Dear Sir, It is a wonderful comparison with the musical chair. In the game, we know that music would stop but in life we never realise that and we think the game would keep continuing. That is the problem with most of us. Thank u for the nice thoughts.

    Dear sir:)

Lovely blog sir !!!!!!!!! :cheers Thought instilling !!!!!!!!!!!

Various instances flash across my mind... if only situations could be reversed.....!!!!!!!!:bowdown

Little does anyone realise that the game of musical chair is being played by everyone, everywhere and all the time.....the throne at the end of the game is only for one !!!!!!!!! We Can never play the same game once again to win it !!!!!

I would like to quote Donna Cavanagh's lines ...... i loved this one.....

Life can be like a game of musical chairs
Scurrying to find the open seat
When the song plays, like puppets we run
Those who are quickest rarely taste defeat

In everyday life it often seems
Our reactions determine if we fail or succeed
We plan our moves; we can push others aside

All to get ahead and to stay in the lead

But every musical chair game ends
And success is not about taking the last seat
That is the starting point on our journey
What we do with that last chair is our true feat

We can sit and gloat that we beat out the world
Or we can open our minds and see the cost of the game
What did we prove in the quest to be on top?
Is there a sense of accomplishment or feelings of shame?

In life, we will always play musical chairs
Always fighting for our shot; that is the human condition
But it is how we compete that determines who we are
True victory never abandons the heart for the sake of ambition

Very nice post Sridhar. Liked the style of your narration. :)

And, of course, that metaphor. Thank you again for the same.

    Hello Sridhar Uncle

This is a very good one. Nothing more to add from my side. I stayed in a company for 7 long years,My first job.

If I would have met this S/w Engineer, I dont know what title she would have given me :)

I changed my job because I could not change the conditions at my previous job which went from Great to Bad with passing years as the management made a biggest mistake by recruiting a wrong guy at the top most position.

He saw to it that the whole basket was spoiled and all good people left the organisation.

    Dear Sridhar,
    Excellent blog!
I was in a job for 5.5 years and recently changed and felt good abt the change.
But am sure smitten by the 'change syndrome' when it comes to 'house'. Until marriage i was in my parental home and after marriage we moved to Bangalore, then calcutta and back to bangalore and now chennai. Now its almost a year in our rented home in chennai and now im feel lik i need a change. In Bangalore, inspite of having our own flat, i requested my DH that we move to a rented apmnt. U shld have seen the shock on his face!! So, i was telling my DH 2 days back that when we build our own house in chennai, how am i going to stay with it for long????? And so, I told him that my first request to the architect/interior decorator would be to construct it in such a way that when i feel like i need a change, by jus moving or re-arranging a few things, i should feel the change of a new home!

Jus an example of how addicted sometimes we become to change! A very good example from you and worth learning! :)
    Thanks for the excellent blog!

    Dear uncle,
Although the moral is good, I disagree with the logic that the lady should not opt for a change. After al, you have mentioned that she writes software for Casinos.

Of course she should have not joined in the first place, but maybe that was the first break she got. After some time, she would have thought that it was conflicting with her personal ethics, and hence opted for change.

In this case, I fully support the software engineer.
