When somebody is in limelight all the time ,it should be more the effort to make a good impression to people around. And for Shah Rukh he is adored by almost anyone asked. In a way ,I should say i am impressed by Aamir Khan. When the time came,he did quit and supports anything he feels is right even though he maybe the first to do it.

It will do our society a lot of good if the celebrities from any field realized that being a celebrity also mandates a certain amount of social responsibility, be it either how they carry themselves in films, public places or even endorsing products. They have the capacity to influence a large portion of the population and that should always be borne in mind, and they should be prepared to make small sacrifices on their part like quitting smoking, etc.
Why stop at smoking? We have celebrities from other countries, opening orphanages, sponsoring education for children. I know of many people who have taken on the responsiblities of street children in Goa and are helping them out. What do our celebrities do? Well, if they do, like Salman then they need to do more and if all of them did a little bit it would work out to a lot, A school in each village, drinking water, ngos teaching people the benefits of hygiene, smaller families, etc., We have the richest people in the world living in India, and they would hardly notice the loss if they decided to use some of the money to educate their countrymen, in fact it would help India to get ahead.
