    soap allergy

    Hi Sonia,

Did you change your soap in the last one year?? Have you changed anything atall this year??
Try using liquid soaps and see.
You can mix glycerine and rose water, apply to your hands in the night before you go to sleep.
The only remedy will be to wear gloves while doing the washing till you find out the reason and treat it.

    re soap allergy

    Hi
one of my cousin was having the same problem for many years.
she used to wear glouse while cooking (for squeezing tamarind etc)
she never was able to do any washing jobs -

she had taken a lot of medical consultations and nothing helped to cure her problem. her both hands would (palm) peel with rashes.. it was horrible
finally - i do not know whether people will believe or not
she was asked to change the living place and was mvoed to Bangalore
now she has no problem and is washing the utensils by herself
but she uses the home made Nalngumaavu for her personal bathing.
    NO soap

but washes clothes by hand also.

causes for Allergy is very strange and no one can predict:x

    Hi Sonia

I also have the same allergy, but a little milder. If I use Rin soap or Vim bar, I get infection. I get burning sensation. At one time it was so severe, that I almost had to get a nail removed.

My cousin is a doctor, she says it is bacterial infection. She prescribed an ointment for me. As long as I use the ointment, the allergy is not painful. The only solution is not to use these soaps. I use gloves for washing utensils and do not touch detergent bars.

Hope the allergy passes off soon for you.

    Jojoba oil

    Hi Aishu,

Jojoba oil is derived from the jojoba shrub. The oil has good aility to penetrate the skin, so it is used in skin creams, cosmetics etc. Jojoba was used by native American Indians.

I dunno where u can get it in Chennai. But nature products shops should have it. Maybe you can try asking in the Good Food Line, Query section. This appears in the wednesday edition of Metro Plus, The Hindu.
