    dear smell,
u cannot leave ur window open in US, open up all the windows for sometime while cooking and then u will find the air circulating will take away the smell, and u can also add room freshner or agarbathi which ever is lasting...sunkan

I light candles and keep the window open - I dont cook non-veg but when I cook garlic, I hate to walk into the house and smell it. Also, I do not like it on my clothes! I always change my clothes if I am heading out!

    Hi Sudha,

Lighting a candle will give you good effect. And If your exhaust is very much

effective, it may suck the drainage air from the sink. So you may keep then

sink drain closed when you dont use it put some drainage block remover

frequently. I think this will help you.:2thumbsup:

Smell ususally persists due to pressure cooking, boiling, tempering. you need to keep the windows open while cooking. The fumes will go straight out of the window and after you finish cooking, just keep the fan on. I do that. I can sleep in my kitchen. no smell... really.......

    Hello,

I live in London where most of the time it is cold and damp and despite using the cooker hood I find that smells from cooking linger on. I have tried various stuff i.e. air freshners etc but using these left water marks on the furniture etc as most sprays are "wet" the best thing I find is using good Indian Incence sticks. Once you have finished cooking just light one stick in each of the rooms near to the kitchen and you will find that cooking odour will disappear with the incence smoke and leave the areas fresh! Not just after cooking I normally light incence after cleaning the house just to refresh it. Incence is cheap and easy to use.
