    Hi all,

My son is 5.5 yrs now, 2 months back April 8 we went to relative home just a 15 min stay, he came back with rashes on leg, he had some sweets also after a day a lil more than I normally give. I just applied ashes(vibuti) on it and left. After two days I dewormed him. May be of it or not dunno he developed severe rashes all over three body. Took him to doc, they prescribed medicine for one week no change eyes mouth swelled, redirected to another doc. Took blood and urine test. Was normal allergy was present couldn't find wat sort. He was given steroid for a week, though no change. After that we met a skin specialist he said it's food allergy, gave internal and external applicants and medicines. Till may end was continuing.h e told may be due to heat it increases. Rashes were on and off. TWo days complete no rash again comes up . In strict diet for him. No potatoes apples also. Then along with that I tried Ayurveda seemed like working for week but it also don't yield any results, they told I would take a long time may be. Continuing all those with strict diet 2 weeks back he got very severe so went on for a syringe, now stopped Ayurveda also. One weekit was ok , for four days completely clear now again rashes starred. Daily bathing him thrice, after school before bed also applying calsoft, and giving medicines as prescribed. But seriously no Change .

Can anybody plz help me out and let me know how these allergies behave. IU ts very tough time for me and for my kid also. He s always a very active naughty boy. Without basic snacks it's very difficult to maintain. Am always crying seeing him suffering. Dunno prayed all God I knew to cure he kid fast. Changed all sorts at home from top to toe. Wat else I do. I have another kid at 3.5 yrs. So maintain them and taking care and of all these kid with on/off rashes my heart pains so much.

Any idea about this plz let me know, sorry for a very long vent. Hope I will get any positive reply

    Common Food Allergies

    Read this one.
There are few food products which cause serious allergies like anaphylaxis. Others are pretty rare.

Well, you can't blindly stop all snacks and food products without finding the actual reason for the allergic reaction.
Do an allergic skin testing and if you are not happy with the current dermatologist, change the doctor and get a second opinion.

It would be impossible to give a random advise based on the history you had given. You need a medical professional help and if unsatisfied with the current doctors, find some one else who can help you.

    take care.

As @vaidhei71 said get the advice from proper doctors probably you can see a allergist.Get a second opinion and try to find out what exactly is allergy for him.Just don't stop all his snacks items, which may make him weak.

Take care and get the second opinion at the earliest.

I been trying all and then only avoiding few. Totally doc advised no outside food, preservatives, coloring agents. Normally allergies I know it would fade off n a go. Hi OP
What kind of allergy it is? Is it all over leg and redness or itchy pimles? Can u describe more?

Usually I apply vaseline or aquaphor on rashes, itchyness or red bumps/pimples. But in your case, it sounds severe case.
    Try to think -
Is it some mosquito/insect bite? Where you went was it wet/damp/mosquito place?
Did you give some new food like peanuts etc
It is difficult to say anything other than follow what docs say.

    Hi sanjuruby,

Yea it's kind of red bumps I left my kids in a relative house just for 15 min, he end up like this. He had a 3 pieces of specific sweets . Generally he s not allergic to any, this sudden pop'-up bothering me.

Skin specialist said I might be food allergy, another doc said might be insect bite or something. What ever nothing can be analysed now they said. I apply calsoft twice a day after bath. But still he has itching .

To identify the allergy it can be found by giving 80 shots of different chemicals and find which one reacts, this was told by many. But I don't wanna trouble kid that way.and more over this can be done only after allergy subsides, not with this bumps on the skin.

Is it reducing over time, red bumps are they drying? how big is it? If it is spreading, you need to worry.

When we went to india, My LO's face was full of mosquito bites and allergy on her back/bum and face. Every one was asking and worried. Poor girl was scratching and before it could heel, it was getting peeled again. I was going vaseline day and night. I think I did not have cortisone that time for mosquito inflammations but anways would not recommend so I have seen there crying, itching :-((
I hope it gets better soon for your son and wish it is just minor mosquito etc. With food allergy, you need precautions whol life.

    Hi dear,

Thank you for ur quick reply and a positive hope. No , bumps been on and off. Morning he goes to school with tiny bumps, and around afternoon either at home or school it increases. We changed so many things at home to identify the reason. I dunno whether it's food or insect. Doc itself couldn't identify it, and dere are no allopathic medicines after this. Allergy has to subside on its own. Without knowing the cause am going mad. It's been 2.5 months my kid s suffering, all I could do s pray to God .

It sounds like hives to me. My second child had it from head to toe when he was 3 yrs old. I took him to Sick Kids Hospital here in Toronto and they prescribed Benadryl every four hours. I forgot the dosage but it went away after a few days.

Hope your son will feel better soon.

    Hi Momsky,

Am not sure about hives, it's been said as allergy due food/insect. But I don't know wat is triggering. MaY be have to check wth cooking oil also. Planning for a visit to another doc. Hope she finds and stops it.
