You are feared by many, yes.
But I don't fear you my dear.
Nor your forms that suit best
To anybody else, but I'll bear.

You come as a disease to many,
Heart breaking news for a few,
    Painful, long and never funny,
Your visits are sudden to some too.

You've already tried a few times,
To take me along with you but,
I remained. Will give you hard time,
If you try these stupid ways, I bet!

If you want to win over me,
Come to me as just a friend.
Like a breeze taking a leaf,
You can take me. Don't offend!

I wouldn't say no to you then.
Else, I'll see you face to face,
    Mocking you, asking just when
You'll try again, staying at ease.

    Dear rgs,

As and when we enter this world our departure day is also determined by the One who is above.

How nice it will be if it is in our hands to postpone or invite kalan like Bhishma pithamahar.

Although Death walks beside us on Life's road,
A dim bystander at the body's start
Death is a stair, door, a stumbling stride
The soul must take to cross from birth.

Thanks PS Madam, for your nice feedback.
I wrote more along the lines of "Lets not go silently in to that night".
Accepted, death is certain, why should one fear it? And why should one give up too?
And I liked your verse too. Quite poignant. -rgs
