    Both
But cosis is more blunt and open and is actually sometimes genuine too..sil is more underhanded so it took a long time to know about her mentality..

My co-sis is the master piece. She is younger than me, but elder daughter in law. She demands respect from me and my DH (more from my DH, poor guy), go to her for advices. When we didn't, she created big hungama, made my PIL's boycott me:)
SIL is sweet and good, touchwood:)

Seriously what's with some elder cosis that they still live in some old family dramas, at the drop of a hat they demand respect, advices...when will they learn that being friendly and respectful is more healthy for relationships whether young or old. My cosis is exactly the same type and sulks for each and every imagined disrepsect..i guess it is very easy to drive her crazy than the other way round..

I'm doubly blessed - I have two SILs and two co-sis, all much older than me....

Am on very good terms with one co-sis; other co-sis is on barely speaking terms with in-laws, but is quite decent to me (probably the idea that enemy's enemy are friends :) ) One SIL is pretty tame, though she can be rather annoying at times.

And ALL of us kowtow to the other SIL, aka MIL-in-chief - she considers herself the clan head, and everybody, from MIL down to me, are expected to respectfully harken to her nonsense!!

So my "nastiness" score would be more towards SIL's, though it does depend on individual situations, doesn't it?

P.S: I hope I haven't blown my cover with this detailed listing!!
