Hi all.this will be a long rant....you all know how my SIL exploded last time..when we were living with them..till my hubby finally decided to move to our own apartment. we took an apartment just two miles away from her home...as her office is near so in case of any emergency she can come immediately for help. Besides that..we really liked the home and the surroundings..since its only for 6 months...i am trying to enjoy every day...the major drawback in this home is that there are no doorbells..and if u run the dishwasher or the tap or bathroom shower..u wont hear anything..u wont hear any knocking..i cant help it if these homes are designed in this way!!

since last week..my 9 month old son was not feeling well.on last thursday night..he was running 102 F fever..throwing up everytime i was feeding him..was having sore throat and cough..everytime he was coughing we were running towards that bathroom thinking that he might just throw up..whole thursday night was like this..we had hardly slept..my SIL had called twice on thursday..but i could not call her back for obvious reasons..i had put the phone on mute because i thought it might just disturb my son;'s sleep! then next day friday morning..he had just woken up..so i had put him in the high chair near the kitchen window and was feeding him..he was coughing at that moment and i was just waiting to see whether he is ok or he is going to vomit or not..my mind was totally focussed on the baby that i did not hear the knock..by the time i reached near the door..SIL was banging on the door like as if there was some fire outside and she was going to get killed...if i did not open the door! i really got scared with that noise..

i opened the door and it was like as if i had opened the cap on a volcano..she brageed in and started shouting saying that why cant u hear that i am knocking on the door...i had not uttered any word..i was speechless..then i said..i did not hear any knocking..i thought there is some other work going on thats why the sound..but i never thought that somebody would be banging like this..that too this early..i was not expecting you! then she says..i called but nobody picked up the ph..so i said my ph was in mute..and we had a tough night as he was not at all well....she went on howling saying that i am deliberately trying to avoid her..by not pickign her calls..not opening the door. i was so shocked that i went inside the bedroom and woke up hubbyand told him that ur sis is here and she is shouting. he did not come out immediately..so when i came out of the bedroom..she again started..so i told her clearly that i got scared with the noise..and i am not used to that kind of banging. she got even more furious then my hubbby entered..he gave her lashing saying that why do u think that we would delibrately not open the door when we are already saying that we cant hear the knocking sound....she still did not calm down..then he said OK fine..if thats wht u think..we cant change your thinking then pls leave..and just go. she immeidately got up and left. idid not stop her becvause i was shell shocked with what had happend..my son was crying and i was shaking from top to bottom.

then i and hubby had a loong discussion..he told me that his sister is mentally unstable but since she lives close by..we cant cut relations like this..we have to reason out well..without shouting..he said that sil had behaved even worse with my co-sister..you are better off so count your blessings!!

now..if his sister is mentally unstable then why is she wrecking my peace!!!!
i somehow fail to understand her mind and behaviour...:bonk

i dont think i can talk normally with her anymore..the irony is that she keeps asking me for advice..(i do some astrological stuff and tarot reading)..frankly speaking i dont think i will do any readings for her!! i just cant do it for her..my emotions will kick in and i might end up blasting her..left n right..:spin

You got that right, how about asking your DH to deal with his volatile sister and you maintaining a Hi - bye relationship. Tell your DH to politely say your SIL that you were really rattled by this yelling and banging etc and henceforth any correspondence should with him and not you ?

Always let DH deal with his family. His family his problem, your family your problem.

Well personally its hard to expect help from ultra-hyper reactive souls.
So I guess a minimal conversation that too from your DH shall be the best approach.

Next time she comes to you for advice, simply tell sorry.. I might not be the best source to advise on X or Y and yes am too busy with the child and getting no time for ASTRO/ TAROT.

Just stay away girl. Let her understand that you are trying to be away. Next time she comes screaming at you, just take your baby and walk out of the room. There is no use giving explanations, so you are better off just walking out. I am glad your husband is on your side. This gives you a better oppurtunity to keep this insane lady away from you and your kid.
