Dear Friends My MIL expired 2yrs back and I have not been able to do a Shradh for her as we stay in UAE and my DH is not very supporting for religious rituals. however, this time i really want to do her Shradh. Shradhs are starting on 8th Sept. and her tithi is the first day of Shardh. how can i do her Shradh while we are staying in UAE? please help and guide...
Dear Pathak, When we are abroad things work so differently. In India, normally for shradh we prepare some food and give it to a brahmin/feed a kanya/do gowdaan etc etc. However all of these may not be possible when we are abroad. The best thing you can do is to cook some of your MIL's favourite dish and give it to some poor or hungry person. Alongwith it do give some fruits also. This is what our guruji advised my father and my brother for my mother's shradh who passed away earlier this year.
