He is an otherwise active kid. For the past 2 months he has been asking me to "take him home". I took him to his room but he says this is not home. I took him to daycare and he knows its not home. I took him to park and he knows its not home. I bring him home and he says its not home. I am getting concerned.

He keeps asking me for mommy. I remind him that I am mommy. If I ask him whether he wants me to leave his room and he says no. But he points to the wall when asked where is mommy. Since 2 months.

Not sure how to deal with this. Any guidance my ladies? I am getting worried. He hasn't been through any traumatic events.

He is loved and cared for by all of us at home. He is the apple of our eyes and we make sure he knows it.

I am speculating between requesting a head CT or some prayers (as suggested by my aunt).

    @Rakhii I have a few questions.

Have you ever asked him what he thinks is his home?
Is your son articulate? Is he able to identify his things at home like his favorite toy, dress etc?

This is a little bit worrisome. If he think you are not his mommy, then how is he addressing you? Is he addressing his dad and sister correctly? Is he having any other behavioral issues or just anything else concerning in this 2 months? Also, did the first and second incident started happening around the same time only?

    Sorry for too many questions.

I have somewhat a similar thing going on with my 3.5 year old boy. He recently started saying that his 'white daddy' is inside bathroom. I have no idea what that means. I tried telling him that he has only one daddy (my DH skin color is on the darker side) and took him to bathroom and showed that there is no one. While he doesn't deny that DH is his daddy, he also has his imaginary 'white daddy' in bathroom. It recently started about a month ago and he only mentioned it a couple of times. We found it funny and didn't take it seriously.
I hope it is nothing to be worried about with your DS too.

See my response in blue above. About 2 months ago, we had to get his skin tag removed. he cried quite a bit. He had fever for a day and thats about it. Apart from that, i dont recall anything traumatising him in anyway. DH is saying he is just being a kid. With my older one, I never dealt with anyone "imaginary". So, this is all new to me.

If I were you I wouldn't go for a head CT at this point. Prayers - definitely yes.
I'd say wait and watch. He probably has an imaginary mommy too apart from you. As long as he is able to correctly recognize everyone and is otherwise exhibiting normal behavior I wouldn't panic. Keep a watchful eye though. Hopefully this is nothing. Hugs!

    Prayers-Yes definitely.
I would suggest you to have a consultation with some psychologist(child specialist) prior to CT. Just my 2 cents.

I dont know Berry. I have lost faith (couple of years ago)...I dont think it will help in anyway. If I do any puja, it would be to satisfy a very close aunt of mine. I actually didnt discuss this with anyone other than her.

Pls cultivate faith. This could be something not to bother much ,but why to get stress over this. If he is going to day care may be you can find his company of friends.Analyse. But think about talking to a psychologist.

    Hi! @Rakhii

Whatever you have mentioned could be anything from-

    1. Imagination-
    Imaginary Friends

Why kids invent imaginary friends - Today's Parent

A friend's kid used to see older kids talk about their friends and he too started imagining having a friend. He would take his trike till the road end saying he is off to visit his friend. It was nothing serious at all.

(Btw, does he miss you for long periods of time?)

    2. Check if anything is amiss at the daycare centre.

    3. You may consider taking the opinion of Paediatrician>Child Psychologist.

    4. Past life recall? (I have read about small kids having past life recollections.)

Hope this is nothing more than his imagination. TC.
