    Chanting Rules!!!

    Hi to all of you!

I began chanting the sholka Mrs Chitra gave for "better job" for 108 times. & I have a daughter who loves to go "mamma this.... mamma that"... Although I was able to say 108 times without interruptions:2thumbsup: (except for a few thoart clearing sounds), I couldn't help wonder.

Are there any rules while chanting "anything" for 11 or 108 times? Like there should be no interruptions, or can we have a sip of water if we dry ourselves?

I want to read the Hanuman Chalisa in the same manner:mrgreen: .

    Awaiting your reply.

    Anita

    Re: Chanting Rules!!!

    Dear Chitra Garu

Is this the same shloka we have to chant for better job:

Asaadhya saadhaka swaamin asaadhyam thavakim vadha
Raama dhootha dhayaa sindho mathkaryam saadhaya prabhu:

Can you please say us the way we have to chant it and the no. of times.
Really we all are blessed to have you here.

    Thank you

    Re: Chanting Rules!!!

    Dear Anita,
Please do not worry at all about minor things.
My Guru says that God is grace personified & "will not take offence" if you are disturbed by your child or you pause to have a sip of water. Whole hearted concentration, faith and interest are most important.
Number of times is more for self-discipline, otherwise we offer ourselves excuses for not being able to chant, but find time for every mundane activity.
Do whatever religious activity with the right attitude - your conscience is clear & you will be blessed.
If anybody has different thoughts to share, I would love to know them too !
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Re: Chanting Rules!!!

    Dear rupa,
Yes, it is the same shloka which means " help me acieve what is seemingly impossible to achieve". It is a prayer to Hanuman.
Please read my post to Anita. Chant whenever you find time, any no: of times.
But please remember that just by praying for something we will not achieve it or God will grant it ! God knows best what we deserve, what we should be given & the time. Our duty stops with just praying to Him & accepting whatever results we get ( or we don't get also) as Prasada.
May be He will have plans to give us much better than what we ask for !
    Thanks for your nice words.
    Love,
    Chithra.
