Shifting to Napperville,IL(Near Chicago)-NEED HELP!

Hello Guys,

My husband and I are planning to shift from PA to IL.We plan to live in Napperville,IL. I am not sure how safe this location is?Are there any indians near Napperville.What are the general rentals.Would like to know the best apartments in Napperville ..can anyone help.

Its a big decision for us to shift from PA.Can anyone help us to know:
1)How is the weather in Chicago?Is it very humid (Like chennai weather) in summers too.I know that winters are awfully cold in Chicago.
2)Are there any attractions nearby? Like beaches or mountains?
3)Indian Community
4)Temples and Indian Stores.

I thank everyone who took out time in reading this and special thanks in advance to those who would help me out in knowing the details.

Naperville has one of the largest Indian community in the Chicago area. This is mainly due to the extremely good school district in this area
.What are the general rentals.Would like to know the best apartments in Napperville ..can anyone help.
Where is your husband's office located? Is he going to be commuting to downtown for work? If so it would be better to look for apartments closer to the train stations.

Chicago is known as the windy city. So yes, it can get cold here. But since you are coming from PA, you will be used to winters. Summer here can on occasion get very hot and humid. It never gets as bad as Chennai, but can come pretty close.
2)Are there any attractions nearby? Like beaches or mountains
Downtown Chicago is only 40 mins away by train. It has a lot to see and do. We have been in this area for many years and have yet not seen all there is to see. Downtown Naperville has the Riverwalk...which is also very beautiful. Other than that, Illinois has many state parks, lakes, etc. You really cannot get bored here!
3)Indian Community
As I mentioned above the Indian community is very big here.
4)Temples and Indian Stores.
There are 2 big temples in this area. you can go see their websites Welcome to the Hindu Temple of Greater Chicago and Sri Venkateswara Swami (Balaji) Temple of Greater Chicago
Both these temples have poojas everyday and lots of cultural activities. If you have kids, they also conduct Sunday schools as well as Summer camps for kids.
There are multiple Indian stores here. Prices are pretty similar in all. Just depends on which store you go to, you may find specialities from the area of the owner (There is one store that a couple of times a year will bring bakshanams from Grand Snacks)

Naperville is the superb community specially for Indian community .. Full of telugus around.. no need to think about anything.. perfect place in n around chicago..let me know if you need more details..

That sounds about right. I did not add rent since I was not sure of how much, but have heard from other friends that rent here is pretty high.
