Amy likes overcooked rice with any type of gravy. Yesterday she had rice with dal. She loved it.

    Rolled Oats:

Very easy and I am fairly sure this recipe was shared before.

    Ingredients:
Un-cooked rolled oats: 1/4 cup (I use Oatkers)
Milk or water: 1 cup (I use water as milk makes it too heavy)

Optional items: salt or honey or chopped dates

    Method:

Bring milk to a boil and add the oats. cook on medium flame until oats are completely cooked. After that, you can add salt or honey or chopped oats or what ever you want.

For children under 2, you may want to run it slightly in a blender before serving.
This stores well for a few days. When serving, you may want to add some more milk to lighten it all up a little.

Hang on there! more recipes on the way in a few minutes.

    Carrots: 1/2 cup
    Onion: 1 small
    any greens like mint leaves
    white rice: 1/4 cup
    meat: optional, few pieces

Cinnamon stick: 1, to be removed after cooking
    salt
    pepper powder
    Ghee
    IMG_8313.JPG
    method:
    1. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker and add the bay leaf, cinnamon stick and saute for a minute. Now add garlic followed by onion. saute until onion turns translucent.
    2. add all the veggies and give it a stir. Now add rice, salt and pepper.
    3. pour enough and more water for the veggies to cook very well.
    4. Let 6 whistles in the cooker. remove the bayleaf and cinnamon after this.
    5. puree until fine or desired texture.

Serve for breakfast or snack. Even small quantity fills their tummy and its really yum.

To make curd you have to boil milk and let it cool down till it is lukewarm. Then add 2-3 tsps of curd to about 500ml of milk and mix it well. Then let it set for about5-6 hours.

I have made yogurt using desi dahi, dannon yogurt, store brand yogurt. I think I would have tried all brands. Any yogurt which has active live cultures would work. Depending upon your location/weather it may take upto 2 days for the curd to set.

It might take little longer but you can definitely try the store bought curd as sample.
