Hi Cheer and Sanravi, I saw your Mail and request today only.:-D Now I am in India and past one week I had work pressure. (Because after 3 months I am here). So I want some time to give the recipes. But generally you can eat what ever you like.:yes: And eat according to your doctor's advice. You can take Soups, Greens(Keerai) , Fresh vegetable and Fruits to avoid 'constipation'. Hi sanravi, In the time of pregnancy, you have take food that are rich in fiber, Iron, Calcium and vitamins. So here in this thread I am going to give some food recipes which are rich in fiber, iron,calcium and vitamins. You please take them as per your doctor's advise / as per your wish. Here we go....
Cutlets Ingredients : 2 tbsp oil 1 medium size onion 1½ tsp finely chopped ginger 1½ tsp green chilies 1 cup carrots 1 cup beans 3 tbsp fresh chopped coriander 2 tsp sesame seeds (optional) ½ cup soya granules 2 mashed potatoes 1 cup kabuli chana boiled and mashed 2 tsp cumin powder 1 tsp pepper powder ½ tsp black salt 1½ tsp lemon juice Oil to fry Method: 1) Heat oil in a pan over medium heat, add onion, garlic and ginger till brown. 2) Add chilies and carrots. Cook for few minutes. 3) Add all the ingredients. Bring it to room temp. 4) Make them in balls and flatten them. 5) Fry and serve with chutney.
Masala Dal Ingredients: 2 tbsp oil 1 medium onion finely chopped 1 tsp garlic 1 tsp ginger 1 green chilly finely chopped 1 tsp cumin powder 1 tsp garam masala 2 tsp Fenu greek leaves / kastoori methi 2 tbsp chana dal 2 tbsp moong dal 2 tbsp masoor dal 2 tbsp soya granules 1 tsp mango powder 2 tsp lemon juice 150 gm paneer Method: 1) Heat oil and sauté the onions till light brown. 2) Put garlic, ginger, green chilies and dry spices. 3) Add all dals, soya granules and water. 4) Let it boil, simmer until dals are tender. Or put them in a pressure cooker and wait till 2 whistles. 5) Let it cool. 6) Place dal mixture and all balance ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth paste is formed. 7) Serve chilled with raw vegetable as a dip or with tandoori rotis.
Mixed Dal Dosa Ingredients: ½ cup moong dal ½ cup masoor dal ½ cup chana dal ¼ cup soya flour 2 tbsp whole wheat flour 1 tbsp finely chopped ginger 1 tbsp finely chopped onions 1 green chilly finely chopped 2 tsp cumin powder 2 tbsp fresh coriander ½ tsp red chilly powder Salt to taste 2 tbsp oil Method: 1) Wash well and soak dals overnight in sufficient water. 2) Strain water from dal and save it. 3) Grind dals to a fine paste. 4) Add all the seasonings. 5) Heat a frying pan over medium heat and drop a spoonful of batter, spread like a dosa or pancake. 6) Cook both sides with oil. 7) Serve hot with chutney.
Porridge with a Difference Ingredients: 2 ½ cups water ½ cup wheat rava / dalia ½ cup oats ½ cup milk 10 12 raisins / kis mis 10 – 12 crushed almonds 3 tsp sugar Method: 1) Bring water to boil over medium heat. 2) Stir in oats and wheat dalia. 3) Mix well, until the cereals are cooked. (About 5-7 min.) 4) Add raisins and almonds. 5) Add sugar. 6) Add milk. 7) Stir it again. 8) Serve hot or cold.
