    Hi ,K.Balachander fans-

    Jaya tv is telecasting K.B.new serial ShanthiNilayam.

    Seems different as there is no Mil/ Dil /Sil melodrama.

    Based on a hospital ...Sounds interesting but the heroine is a bit too artificial and cinematic. Lets see how good /different it is?

    wow good to know that!! I dnt have oppurtunity to watch even the trailer.
    I shall try to search on net for some videos.

    Nothing major! That Ezhilarasi flirts with Dr. Naren and has a crush on him.

    Rathi Bharathi has a date with Dr. Naren to attend some kutchery in Music Academy for which Naren stood 2 hrs in the queue to get tickets and is waiting there. Just when she is about to leave for the date, baby's dad comes and yells at her for being so lax and she yells back asking if he remembers in what a dangerous condition the wife was brought and how Shanti Nilayam was so awesome in accepting them as patients and that she is doing all that she can to find the baby. The wife comes and consoles the husband and takes him away. Rathi is seething and refusing to pick Naren's calls. So Naren calls Ezhil's cell phone and asks her to give the phone to Rathi and in the process, Ezhil gets yelled at too, by Rathi.

    Next day Naren storms in and yells at Rathi asking why she did not go to the kutchery and how bad it is of her to not live upto her word. Rathi tries to explain that the situation in the hospital was urgent, but Naren does not listen. Just keeps shouting that being a doctor is secondary, more important is to kaapathify kuduthua vaaku.

    ( I could not for the life of me understand what the big deal was, so she missed a kutchery. There is a missing baby in the hospital and she yells back at the dad asking him to be decent and not shout!!! Adhe the other doctor, just because he did not see a few patients was sacked!! Though this serial is a lot better compared to the crap Sun TV and other channels have, it is nowhere close to the usual KB fare - Kai alavu manasu, Premi, kaadhal pagadai, Sahana etc.)

    I also agree.I doubt if KB is the director.Some silly sentiments,useless scenes.He has also fallen in to the mega serial culture.

    Lets hope for the best in the upcoming episodes

    Some old Balachander touches seem to be sadly missing so far.

    Hope Director injects some glucose(hospital illayaa:rotfl) into the storyline.

    this serial seems to be better than the mil dil kodumais and unbelievable storylines they usually have. But like u all said the KB trademark is missing. The story of the nurse was well taken! hope things start heating up
