So much of man hours wasted standing in queues. People stand in queue to pay bills at the last hour. In Visa office people sometimes go the previous night to be first in the queue. People who have deep pockets arrange someone to stand in the queue.

Parents who wants to get admission for their children in a reputed school stand in queue. After demonetisation people had to stand in queue in front of ATMs.
To buy a platform ticket at the railway station we have to stand in queue.

Women are standing in queue to just to get a pot of water from the corporation water tanker. At the ration shop there is a long queue to get kerosene.

At the hospitals and even in nursing homes after getting an appointment also there is a big queue.

Even after digitization there are many people who are afraid to use the internet for fund transfer and paying utility bills.

Even while using telephone we get a message that we have to wait for sometime or call later.

Long time back when there was no online booking and my son was a teen ager we sent him to a cinema hall to get tickets. He was a very thin and timid boy and some hefty fellow just lifted him and put him out of the queue and he returned home crestfallen.

    PS mam,

I had this on top of my mind today.Got really irritated in the morning for the very same reason. You go to the temple and there is a long que. Somebody just walks into the counter and get his receipts.:BangHead:.Next i go to the post office and here again a long que. And there is an agent there who just gets inside the cabin and get their work done. What are we common people supposed to do?? Give a helpless look?.
I always have this question on my mind . Am i so impatient?
But we still have to follow the que isnt it?

    Dear @Anisu

Thank you for posting the first fb to my post.

Law abiding people are always made fools. While we are waiting patiently in the queue people who have some influence or money power easily make a back door entry.

Wherever possible I try to finish my work through online. While visiting temples I used to stand in the queue. Mostly I avoid going to temples when I know it will be crowded. I go to temple on normal days and avoid going on festival days.

Of course when we visit our doctor we have to wait until our turn comes.luckily our family doctor has become old and sees few patients only.

    Dear PS Madam,
The queues you mentioned are manageable...some we do online and some we can go early before the queue is longer. At doctor there would be chairs to sit. But in temples to see God for a few seconds we have to just stand for hours and hours, especially in places like Tirupathi. That is very difficult.

    Dear PS Ma'm,

Those queues I tell you. The most frustrating ones of course are the temple ones for me and then a VIP walks in, and he/she is taken to garbhagudi straight away - seems to be the story even if 4/5 temples are together. When I visit India that is something I have to get used to - post office, temple and oh boy this time banks! I have come out a couple of times trying to go back at a better time. But in a way I have to confess, it is nice to see the order. Hopefully with more online options, it gets easier for the common man.

    Dear@shyamala,
Like escalators horizontal walkways should be installed in temples like Tirupathi. Like a conveyor belt it will keep moving. This could be done at specific times and and people will keep moving automatically on the walkways. In US and many other countries these walkways are in use.

    @Srama
    Dear Sabitha,
Nowadays in banks there is a special counter for privilege account holders and we use this whenever we go to the bank in person.

Visits to the temples should be avoided on holidays and festival days not to get stuck up in the serpentine queue. Senior citizens have been alloted a specific time both in the morning and in the afternoon at Tirupathi. Along with them an escort is also allowed. Tirupathi Ezumalaiyan Temple is the only temple in India which attracts lots of devotees the whole year round from all over the world. The temple authorities are trying their level best to ease the difficulties faced by the devotees.

    PS

    Dear @Sandycandy ,
Already people are having only one child in many families. Due to advance in the medical field longevity also has become a cause for population.

I like standing in a queue. You may ask me why. I have never seen such a variety anywhere. Men and women of all shapes and sizes, ages, complexions. The longer the q better the senerio.
It gives you time to contemplate. It gives you time to think. It gives you time to increase your capacity to stand on your feet, scratch your body and if possible feel others' bodies.
It gives you time to be helpful, compassionate and sacrificial. Have you ever given you turn to some one in real hurry. Here is the chance.

I can go on and on...........
I met this guy who met his life partner standing just behind him in the q.
