    Dear All,

As my son who is in 4th standard now, his school is going to open for 08-06-2016, I am worried about the snacks and lunch boxes again. Its very disappointing to see the stuff prepared with so much love and hard work getting back in the evening.

If you are agreeing with me. Lets share school box ideas with each other.

Let me share some of mine.
    Snacks
    1. Idli + Sambhar (My son like to have with sambhar only , no chutni)
    2. Bread+Butter+Jam
    3. Alu Sandwitch
    4. Paratha + Jam or Alu fry

    1. Puri with alu curry and tomato sauce
    2. Curd rice
    3. Daal rice
    4. lemon rice

with fruits and dryfruits (dryfruits suggestion got from an IL member)

    Lets share

    Hey,

This is so true and thanks for starting this thread. I give few regular meals to my gal, which she really enjoy in her breakfast and their healthy too.. below are the recipes and names
    1. Stuffed Parathas:
Be it Paneer, Aloo or even an Egg paratha, these are a hit with the kids and easy to make as well.

    2. Classic Sandwiches:

Every Mother swears by these, sandwiches can never go wrong. Play with different fillings from chicken & mayo, or egg sandwiches and even simple vegetable sandwich with mint-coriander chutney. It's easy to eat and isn't messy.

    3. Paniyaram/Padu

A South Indian favorite; Padu is made out of idli or dosa batter. It can be made very healthy by adding grated carrots, onions, coriander leaves. A Padu pan is a must for preparing this dish.

Cancer-causing chemical found in bread samples from Delhi
Study points to presence of possible cancer-causing chemicals in bread

CSE’s new study tested some of the bread sold in Delhi and found residues of Potassium Bromate and Iodate in commonly consumed varieties.

The use of Potassium Bromate – classified as a category 2B carcinogen (possibly carcinogenic to humans) – is banned in most countries. Also, Potassium Iodate, which contributes to thyroid-related diseases, was found. The group has now recommended an immediate ban on these two chemicals.

    Good Chikki,

    I made coconut chikki once
Fresh grated coconut, roasted groundnut then removed its skin, grinded it to coarse powder.
Mixed both well with jaggery and cooked it.

settled it in a plated, then cut it into small pieces.

    It was Yummy!!

But my son does'nt want it in school.
