say bye to Heat ;))))))))))))))))

    HI all... Luckily i was living in a Joint family and came 2 know some benefits of using mud vessels, pazhayathu satham which is very very very good for your health,life especially in summer season...

    as we all know about Mud Vessels (paanai) used for cooking stuffs,drinking water in olden days but unfortunately it got vanished in our day today life...

    let me share some benefits here!!

    1. Paanai Thanni
    * Esp in summer time we usually go behind fridge water a lot, which is not good for health too ;((
    * so Buy a big paanai (like kadam) n keep that in water for 2 days just for observation
    * later,fill in the paanai with filtered water and leave as such thro' out the night.
    * Drink that water the next day. likewise use regularly
    * your fridge water chill will fail before that
    * your health will not get affected by paanai thannai chill!! its natural chillness + healthier

    2.
    Pazhayathu Saatham
    * Pour water in rice and keep overnight
    * next day morning (eat or drink) with a scoop of curd and salt in it.
    * use a hand full of small onion or maavudu or any
    pickle for side dish.. yummmmy!!
    * naturally reduces heat from our body

    note -
    1. the water should not be filtered from the rice... mix curd and salt in same overnight water, do not use new water or filter the old water pl....
    2. Paanai itself is a good protector that it kills the bacteria naturally and give us good water...

    you wont get sick by eating or drinking this stuffs... because no fridge or ice used here, naturally its getting chiller so dont afraid!!!
    for this HOT season these are a natural remedy to protect our body from sun + its rays..

    i and my dh have started enjoying these stuffs daily n saying bye to Heat...:thumbsup

    pazhaayasatham, vadumangai, paanai thanner eppadi marakkamudiyum ninaikum bode nakkil neer voorugiradu.

    This will keep our body very cool and fit.

    A good season tips to help coming over the heat, Aparna.

    Earthen vessels are always good for health that's why they are used by our ancestors in their traditional cooking.

    I add a variation to your panai thanni & pazhaya sadam.


    • Just put two lemons in the water stored in earthern pot, overnight. Morning you get a wonderfully flavoured and refreshing water for the next day.
    • Pazhaya sadam can be mashed nicely, coarsely mash some curry leaves and greenchillies, add salt and finely cut onions. Your yummy 'neer aagaaram' is ready. (it is best to avoid chillies but also can be used in moderate quantity to add taste)

    hi that's sounds good.. but i've a small doubt.. whether we should cut 1 lemon into 2 and keep in the pot or in drops???

    Yes, Aparna these are some of the ways to keep our body cool during summer, which were followed in olden days and are slowing getting renewed..........we must pass these to the younger generation who do not know about this.

    Hi Aparna, need not cut the lemons. Just immerse whole lemon. You can take that out the next day to squeeze the juice and replace with fresh water and fresh lemon.

    hey mira.. thanks..... one more doubt... can cumin seeds be added in this normal water???? or its effective only in hot water..???

    Nothing to be added. Only whole lemon. Jeera water is totally different. to prepare that, cumin seeds to be added to boiling water which is very good for health and cures all digestive problems. But jeera water cannot be stored for more than 6 hrs as the smell will change.
