For sanitary pads after delivery in India somebody suggested a brand called "Friends" to me.

Can anyone tell me if disposable panties are available in India? Where? In pharmacies? What is the brand name? how long does one such panty last? Thanks.

Ya now-a-days they are very common in stores selling ladies inner garments and maternity needs. If you ave shoppers-stop or lifestyle in your place, then no worries :)

I'd suggest those disposable under wears are much more hassle free & easily available for incontinence (for older people) and available in most/ all drug stores. No need to wash panties and throw away after use during those heavy days.

    Hi ,

Thanks for all the information in this thread. Helped a lot in putting together my list.

    One question :
How long do we bleed after the birth ?
Is it just 2 weeks or more ? (I guess its not the same for all women , but would like to get a general idea so that I stock up on pads ).

    Hi Ranchu,

After my first delivery I bleed for 40 days (it was horrible). And after 15 days regular period cycle started. But everything looks fine when you see a little angel in ur lap............and his first smile will not be easily forgettable.

    all the best.

    Hi Ladies,

Here is what I did. I used "stayfree" extra long with wings.you can use fragrance free or fragrant one. And I used two pads at a time, one in regular place and second one overlapping slightly on first goes all the way to the back waistband elastic of your panty. Most of the times you will be sleeping so you get wet till the back and the panty gets soiled. Also because i had c-section I used "grandma panties" whose elastic is on your belly button than bikini panties.

    Hope this helps
    Rekha.

    Hi Ladies,

This is the time when you'll face a little heavy flow.
So I suggest Lady Anion pads, it's available in Chennai - imported brand.
It's breathable, can withstand heavy flow upto 10 hrs, anti-bacterial, soft and non-leaking.
100% organic, bleach free, chlorine free cotton, so no itching and tension to change often.

    Regards,
    Hamsa Priya
