I agree that there was some sort of sync gap because the same scene from a different angle showed a different expression ( eg archi's expression when parshya walks up the stairs, past her, in the well). Thankfully not too many that detracted from the experience. Even though an age old tale of forbidden love, i liked the rawness & simplicity of emotions. It reminded me of how easy falling in love was supposed to be. I happened to watch the Befikre trailer (a copy of Love me if you dare) after watching Sairat. That's when the meaning of "connecting with the audience" hit home. It felt a bit ... shallow ? P.s - Those of you heartbroken by the ending... it might be of some solace to know that the woman taking the baby to the store happens to be the real-life mom of the kid. Totally weird how this works. But i felt a bit better
LOL. The measure of a movie is how much the audience think about it after leaving the theater or after switching off the TV. : ) I like this movie trivia talk. : ) So, a related kwestin... does the little kid actually see the hero heroine at the end as is shown? Or, is that movie editing's magic?
I would think these are 2 seperate scenes spliced together. Surely there was something there to elicit the look of incomprehension that the kid had. But it is likely that, that something was the director or his AD with some distracting device for the kid. Film enthusiasts may enjoy Anupama Chopra's film companion interview with Manjule. It's amazing how he prepped Rinku Rajguru to bring out the audacious, confident Archi in her.
First time I watched a movie in a language that I didn't understand and what a coincidence that I wrote about Orphan in Tamil today. Wish I hadn't watched this heartbreaking one!
Is Sairat done already in Tamil? Or tamil one is remake of Sairat? With director words it looked like his original.
Hi KashmirFlower, That film is original marathi film. Not done in tamil. The director Nagaraj Manjule is a talented director making nice movies in small budget. May be some tamil films ressemble this movie. I am a tamilian I don't even know marathi or hindi. But manages with little understanding and with subtitles I am selecting some nice movies and watch them. But I wish I know these languages. Rani
