Dear Ladies, From today I have decided to post quotations from Sathya Sai Baba's Divine Discourses for you all to read and understand life better. Even if you are not a follower of Baba, the sayings suits everybody and each one of you may get benefited some way or other. We can have a open discussion too on the facts of sayings. Since it is in JPEG format, I am sending it as an attachment.
hi everybody, What should be our attitude in life? Swami tells us today.
Good idea, Vanaja, keep posting! What an idea on this Thursday! Whenever I get irritated in performing some of my daily chores, I used to remember one of Sai's sayings that 'whatever we do, surrender those actions to God" or think of doing those chores to God Himself! My wordings may not be correct, but this is what i remember everytime and go ahead with the work, feeling less irritated! sriniketan
hi sriniketan, thanks a lot for your comments and encouragement. And for today - What is real concentration and how can we acquire it? Swami tells us today.
Dear Vanaja ma'am A nice thread...Good thoughts indeed...When we get really involved in some work n enjoy doing it, then the results of work wil not even come to our minds. We wil let ourselves to flow with the work with the sense of inner peace.. Love Meena
Hi Meena, Yes, the power of concentration yield good results always even when we offer our actions and results to God.
hi, Swami reminds us of a very important virtue of a man of God.
How should our speech be? Swami tells us today.
Dear Vanaja, Went through all the sayings i missed. concentration and meditation is needed for us to get detached from the results of our actions. Powerful weapon is the tongue. We experience it everyday in our lives. Comparing this to the defensive tactis of animals, which is sometimes offensive and destructive in human beings, is very apt. Where Alwars also say that 'my tongue should be scarred by chanting your name'. sriniketan
It is true that flattering words or unsweet words do not gain anything in life, except in its initial stages. I think in Kural too, Thiruvallur had said that if there are sweet words to talk, why speak of 'sour' words. this is like eating a raw fruit when ripened fruit is available. sriniketan
