Dear Sunkan, The pdf was posted atleast a week back. So I was wondering, if you saw that at all ! Lakshmi S Namam is a "big assignment" & will run for months. If a few more ask for it, it will be worth the trouble. Let me wait & see. You are very kind in your words to me - pray Meenakshmi makes me worthy of that. Love, Chithra.
dear chitra, from the posts i feel even the ILites who do not read in tamil would love to say the prayers in english, i would love to help u here, i miss indus so much. pained to go back to out of city....regards sunkan
its really wonderful for helping us in giving slogas in tamil, but like bfr also try to post the USE/SIGNIFICANCE of that sloga thanks a ton san
Dear San, I have the meaning of Shivananda Lahari (sloka by sloka) in English. If anybody is interested, with due permission from ChitVish to publish it, I can post it here. Regards Vidya
My dear San, Soundaryalahari & Shivanadalahari are each 100 hymns, in praise of Devi & Shiva respectively. There is no one specific significance attached to them, I would say - their regular chanting helps you progress in every sphere of life. From the former, a significance is attributed toevery shloka, which I plan to start posting shortly. It is not given like that for the latter in any book. But for one's own betterment in life in all aspects & self-discipline, it is chanted. I think it is better to start chanting perhaps 4, 5 shlokas per day , so that a cycle will be completed in20-25 days. On special days to Shiva like Shivaratri, Karthigai somavaram etc, one can chant all 100, ofcourse subject to one's interest & availability oy time. Love, Chithra.
My dear Vidya, You are welcome to post the meaning in english, if "there are takers" ??!! I did'nt post the meanings because I had my own doubt if anybody will have the interest to read all the 100 shlokas meaning, in detail. Unless our effort is worth it, I did'nt want to spend the time on that. Even Shivananda Lahari, I posted mainly because Sunkan asked for the tamil version urgently. Otherwise, it is a less commonly chanted shloka. Please go ahead if you have the time & inclination - but I assure you, you will derive as much pleasure from it as I did, inspite of labour ! Love, Chithra.
