Hi Nags,

• I am no expert, I just used oil paint as base coat and used fabirc paint also. It took me ¾ days for the oil paint to dry.
• These are called puppet hangings. The bird is the easiest one to make and is filled with medicated cotton only.
• I made the bird alone, the rest of the dolls are all readymade stuff that you can find if you visit any craft fair or in Gujarat/Rajasthan emporium. This is typically an art from <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" />Gujarat and Rajasthan.
• That is a Warli painting. I used my own imagination and drew the design on plain black poplin cloth fixed it on a plyboard. I used pearl colors fabric paint (light shades) and stuck mirrors on them and got it framed.
• I will try to take a closeup of the pots and send it.
Cheers,
Sudha

Hi Saraswathi,

For the gem trees, you need to use gold wire/strings that we use to make stocking flowers but this should be thinner and easily manageable to twist and turn.
You also get them in multiple colors.
The hanging beads come in a variety of colors and shapes and sizes.
The leaf shaped sequins also come in a variety of colors.
I actually learnt it in Chennai from a friend 4/5 years ago.
I will see if I can post some pictures of doing it. I have seen this kind of stuff on the net while browsing – will send you the website after going thro’ my craft folder.

Cheers,
Sudha

Thank you Sudha for a detailed explanation of all my questions. I really appreciate your patience:bowdown for making an effor to explain everybody's questions.
Is that Warli? Wow, I had seen quite of them, but this one I have missed. That is a brilliant idea of using poplin cloth and then boarding it. Thanks a lot for sharing your ideas and work.:thumbsup
