Yesterday I happened to watch Roja movie after a long time. As you can rightly guess, yes, it is one of my favorites. What is there not to like about the movie?!? It just has the right mix of patriotism, romance, innocence apart from splendid songs and awe inspiring direction. Well....there is one more thing.....to love ..... Aravind Swamy. Yeah, you heard me right! I have this long standing crush on this guy (from my third standard). I still enjoy his movies so much. He is the ideal dream boy....in movies for me. So you can imagine the blush I had the entire time watching the movie. The only hitch was my husband's occasional cough and irritated mutterings letting me know his presence beside me. One of the first things I told my DH during our courtship days is my crush on Aravind Swamy. Since then my DH has this look on his face when he watches Aravind's movies....a look which says 'this guy?!??'. My 'dream boy' has since then been promoted to the position of 'dream uncle' - courtesy my husband of course. Well, to each his own. So, that's exactly what I did yesterday....sit beside my DH and watch the movie Roja with a school girl crush the entire while.
Ha ha I liked that movie. But not because of Aravindsaamy. Basically the music and songs were the ones which really made me like that movie. ' Kaadal Rojaave, Yenge Née Yenge, Kanneer Vazhiyudhadi Kannil...' and all the songs in that movie are fantastic. Ever green ones. Thanks for bringing back memories of that movie.
yeah...everygreen songs! And specially when you hear the 'tamizha tamizha' song, you almost get that patriotic feeling inside you! Ofcourse Aravind Swamy acted good in that!
Crush.....From 3rd Standard.....OMG I have always felt that Madhubala in no match for him in that movie, but she would've acted very well. One among the classics of Manirathnam Sir. Missing such movies from him now a days. Anyways, i too like Aravind for his no nonsense acts.
Hehe....can't help! Seriously! I know ok kanmani was supposedly more romantic than his other movies but miss the Mani's movies
Arvindswamy was my first crush) He looked very different and classy and hard to see guys who look that suave during those days!! great songs, good movie, cute romance..perfect 10/10 movie
I guess they chose madhoo coz she suited the role of a village belle very well!! the heroine should not look too glamorous and she fit her role to the T
+ one for Aravind Sami. Then I did not find Madhoo very gorgeous or suitable ( must jealous ), now when I watch Roja, I find she has completed that role. Watch this, he look so cute
