I have been doing job search for the past two years..full time will not work for me in my situation until my kid reaches middle school. I have been frantically searching for remote and part time but have a 9 year resume Gap. I started to apply fulltime, temoprary, contract also just to see if am getting any but no avail. I have updated myself with some courses and still continuing keeping hope. My interests are data entry, clerical and Human Resources. Unless am in extreme desperate(maybe in the future giving it two more years)am not even interested for other jobs as of now. My health is taking a toll.Is it that imposisble to even get a datA entry after some years?
read this: How to explain "the mommy gap" in your resume - TheJobNetwork. There are many other such things on the internet. Reading your post gave me the feeling that we'd seen this or similar posts from you before: You seek a low-wage job, that costs you more than it pays you. Find an occupation that pays well (in money & intangibles), and therefore worth the hassle you'd have to take on. Good luck.

I quit as of now..it was taking a toll on my mental and physical health.. I ended up having 3 to 4 icecreams a week and way too much caffeine and sleepless nights.. I have not been doing it for myself completely but also to prove a point to the people around me. Too much fights at home with husband. I will restart only when I want to do it for myself. Taking a break again for my emotional health.
This has happened to a lot of people during lockdown, and WFH routine. The fridge contents are just too darn close to the office, and the resolve to resist is too weak. we understand he is not too romantic... but a thoroughly nice guy. I wish you both lots of happy times.
It's good Anika. Our mental health comes first. Also, family peace matters most. Hope everything is good now. I am worried as I have a big gap in my resume. I want to know what women with gap are doing, how they are finding job in IT field. Is it very difficult for women in 30s to get good job in IT.
