Resisting Sweet Tooth

    Hello IL 's .what measures you take to resist temptation from eating too many sweets.Soon after my meal and during different times of the day i always dream of having some sort of sweetened stuff to eat.Tried many ways to get rid off the habit.Now whenever i feel like having a sweet am nibbling on a piece of jaggery.what do you guys do to resist sweet tooth?

    Same here. After lunch I crave for something sweet.
    I keep raisins, dry apricots handy.
    One apricot or 2-3 raisins satisfy my craving.

    I tried eating banana post lunch and its satisfying. But am not able to stop with one for the level of craving i have.Like kids i have started eating dosa and idi with sugar too

    When really craving if can’t control I try having few pieces of any one of these
    1. Amla dried candy
    2. Dried cranberries
    3. 1-2 peanut chikki
    4. Sunkist Tart sweet gems
    5. Clementines
    6. Oranges
    7. Spiced Buttermilk
    8. Sonf/ cloves/ elaichi few pieces
    Or finally I brush my teeth that stops it.

    Having protein filled diet with equal balance of spices helps me in cutting down sweet cravings

    Read a lot and lot about the ill effects of sweets. Read about the worst sufferings of diabetics and obese people. It should definitely kill your sweet tooth a bit. Hyping the ill effects and negative consequences helps many to drastically reduce their cravings. A bit of negative technique:)

    Jskls gave really good suggestions. Recently read in an article that its body's need for more protein came out as sugar cravings.So try to include sufficient protein in each meal of the day!!

    Check your thyroid n insulin level. Check if your everyday meal is a balanced meal with required protein, carbs, good fats n nutrients n that it doesn't include fried foods, pickles. Include a lot more vegetables.

    Drink water or eat a piece of dark chocolate really slowly. Or try a sugar candy which will melt slowly in your mouth for a few minutes. Eat ginger candy.

    Eating more number of banana right after a meal (they are high in calories) n eating food with sugar can increase the calories, weight n health issues.

    What do sugar cravings mean?
