Hospitals in Qatar:

The Qatar government has invested a lot to provide world class facilities for Qataris and Expats.There are a lot of private hospitals too.We would be surprised to see Helicopters being used for helping victims who suffer from severe injuries during accidents.

There are many Health centers zonewise to help patients.Hamad Medical Corporation (Qatar state government Hospital) and Pediatric Emergency Center(For children) provide world class facilities at low cost .

There are good private Hospitals also.To name a few,

Al – Ahli Hospital
Doha Clinic
Al-Emadi Hospital
American Hospital

Apart from these there are Indian Hospitals like

Housing in Qatar:

Housing is pretty expensive in Qatar.You might want to rent a Flat or Villa .There are expats who own properties in Qatar.

Expat Life in Qatar:

Qatar is an Islamic country .But the country is very tolerant of other religions .You can follow your faith behind closed doors respecting others/other’s faith.The Qataris are generally friendly.We are expected to dress conservative.The country is not so conservative as Saudi at the same time not as free as Dubai.Alcohol is permitted only when a license is obtained from the state and alcohol is distributed through QDC.

I am relatively new (hardly 2 months) to Doha, in fact to the Middle East.

But, this forum had helped me feel at ease many a times. It had helped me gain insights, be it the petty matters like finding a shop or key issues like work-life balance or school admissions.

In fact, i have managed to find few friends in my neighborhood through this forum.

You are sure to find best of buddies and acquaintances that may even last a life time.

an anyone tell me how long does it take to get Residence permit as i ll be joining him only after having family status been issued... also can u guide me on good residential areas for renting,,,
