Re: LiFE Dear ILits, Let us close This post with the following replies. The word "LIFE" is not defined any where precisely. The dictionary meaning is "The period between birth to death".No doubt this is a most general meaning but not a definition. It is beyond our conception. In general we can detect the presence of " LIFE" in a body by observing changes with Time( moment/grouth/chage). But this is also not the case with all. For xample if we take seeds of a plant, if they are preserved well they can be kept as it is without loosing life in them.We cannot observe any change in them for a very long time. Regarding the second part of the question, The Nails and hair posses life as long as they are in contact with our body . that is why we observe growth in them with time. when they are cut off they loose their life. This type of life is known as "DEpendant Life". THis life is same as the life of a baby as long as He/SHE is in Mother's womb during the incubation period Bye Sd/sastry
Re: BODY and MIND Part 9 Dear Ilits, The following are some of my doubts .Readers are requested to clear them if they found Answers anywhere ? 1) What is " MIND" ? (Def) 2) what is It made up off ? 3)What is its LOCATION ? 4) What is its Function ? 5)Any scientist/psychologist/metaphysicst/medico Experimented on "MIND"? If so what is the result ? To Me 1) & 5) " MIND" is not defined so far by any one, in any country at any Time in the past. 2) It cannot be the matter or energy. If It so it can be detected by Any one of our Sophisticated Instruments. For example COSMIC RADIATION, Invisible electro magnetic spectrum can be detected by our instruments although they cannot be detected by our senses. because they belong to Energy. 3) Its location is our BRAIN(CEREBRUM) 5)Its Function is EVERYTHING which mans that for any one without mind there is no world. It is the only sophisted instrument provided by nature to Man with which He can perceive the World. Therefore To study Human mind Man made Instruments (How ever sophisticated it may be ) are not at all useful. Classification of karma Dear ILits, part 1 The Daily karma(Actions) performed by the Individual (By thought, word and deed) will be divided into the Three categories immediately. These catagories are 1) SANCHITA ( To be preserved) 2) PRARABDHA (To be enjoyed ) 3) AAGAMI (To be for far feature) What we are enjoying Now in this Birth is" Prarabda karma" (Goood or bad) Man is given freedom To do Karma(Action) during his life time, to a certain Extant. At the same Time He cannot Avoid Enjoying Prarabdha Karma. During His life Time If he is Wise He will do Good Karma To get Good results and to lead a happy life in his future birth/births. Prabdha karma is nothing but The Mixture of previous "SANCHITA" and previous "AAGAMI". The proportion of these two depends on Nature and Intensity of the karma performed by him during his previous birth/births. Then sanchita and AAgami will be naturally reduced. Then the alloted amounts of Sanchita and Aagami from the present Birth will be added to their Accounts Leaving the Remaining amount of resuld To form as "prarabdha karma" of jeeva to be enjoyed By "jeeva" in his next birth. This cycle Will go on unending. That is Why this cycle of Birth and death willbe continued for all human beings for ever. In the Mean while If any "jeeva"is able to Realise the self (Brahman) that particular "jeeva" will be escaped from this cycle. That is called" liberation." Perhaps that may be the reason why ARUNA CHALA RAMANA MAHARSHI refused to take medicine for the cure of cancer ,attacked to him at his fag end of his life.As it is a "prarabdha karma" it should be enjoyed by that particular "jeeva" with out fail.If he escapes this result in this Birth he has to take another birth to enjoy it.He is a seer who can know his past births and perhaps this is the only sin remained during his past births. So he decided to bear it in this life only. That does not mean that all of us can follow this method. because we do not know how many Number of sins remained in our account of past births. As per the Actions of "jeeva" It may take the Form of Man,Women,or of any animal during its life journey. Sd/sastry

Re: Classification of karma part 2 Dear Ilits, Hope all of you are aware of the fact That Our Present Body is entirely in accordance with the result of the fruits of the actions performed by us in our previous Birth. Karma theory is quite complicated to speculate the rsult of our actions. That does not mean that it is totally incorrect. It never depends upon our Beliefs and disbeliefs. At times the result of good deeds appears in the form of "ADRISTAM " (unseen help) Similarly The result of sinful Deeds in one Birth may appear in the Form of Dreadful Diseases in another Birth/Births. These (Good or bad results ) may cause to the progeny of the person (For his/her , son/daughter )in which case the person will be effected. For example some persons are in the habit of taking money as a loan from his close friend or nearest relative on promise to return at the time of his need. But he would not return although he is able to do.The paid person or his family members may not be able to get before or after his death. He after much suffering lost life. That is a great sin. The person who is responsible for this will reap the consequences either directly or indirectly in the next birth. There is a saying in shastras that " purva janma kritham papam Vyadhi roopena peeditham" The meening is " papam done by a person in his previous birth will appear in the form of disease to him or to his kith and kin" then what is punya and papa ? " punyaya paropakaraya and papaya parapeedanaya" The meanng is By helping others you will get punyam and by doing harm to others you will get papam. If you adopt this simple rule it is enough for your spiritual progress. you need not scriptures, u need not perform Japa,Tapa,Homa, vratha, puja etc
Re: Classification of karma Dear Mr. Ayyappasastry, Your explanations of karma is excellent. But for a radical thinker what is called a sin is relative or as per the rules of manudharmam. Shall we say even Lord krishna had to suffer prarabdakarma since his avatar followed that of Rama and Rama did some sins like asking Sita to have agni pareeksha, killing Vali from behind etc. In Mahabharath, after the war when Krishna is returning to Dwaraka, a saint meets him and asks about the welfare of both pandavas and Kauravas since both are Krishna's nephews and when he came to know about the war and the destruction he gives a curse by which Krishna's life is ended by a hunter. is it the prarabda karma of Krishna? Regards, TDU
Re: Classification of karma DearGanesan ji, Glad to see your question. It consists of two part .The first part is !)Radical Thinker's view Let us set aside "MANUDHARMAM" for the present.I wish to put a straight question to a radical Thinker. Is It not bad to do any harm to any other person at any time and any where? That we call it as a SIN (papam). Is it not Good to Help otheres .That we call it as PUNYAM. Manudharmam narrated elobarately the Different Types of Good and Bad deeds performed by humanbeings in different situations and the Results obtained for them. At present many criminals are escaped their punishment in our Man made courts for want of witnesses. similarly Many people are not awarded For thir good deeds for the Same reason But this will not happen in Gods king dom.The witnesses are Pancha bhutas. The results will appear in the form of Wealth, prosperity,Education,Longevity,Health etc For good deeds, and for bad deeds they appear in the form of Diseases,Poverty, unhealthy,Short life, uneducation etc.A radical thinker can thinkwell the reason for the disparities of Life styles of different people of the members of the same family. Re: Classification of karma Dear ILits, part3 Dumb, lame, blind, criple or any other deformity By birth is due to the sin made previous birth. To born in a poor family where parents cannot afford to Feed,Nourish, medicate, food, education, enjoying life long poverty, bondage, chronic diseases are all due to the same Reason . Similarly Goodhealth ,birth in a rich family where the parents can afford all his needs for his upbringing well, long life etc are all due to his good deeds. The cordial relations between himself and his wife,Father,Mother,Sons, nad friends, brothers etc in the present Birth are entirely due to the same reason .That is why there is a saying that" RUNANU BHANDA ROOPENA, PASU,PATNI,SUTHA,AALAYA. THe meaning is that unless there is a good relation ( debt) u cannot enjoy the same good relation now.Suppose a son treated his father and mother with much respect in this birth.Thi is due to the reason that they(Father n mother)as sons/daughters treated their (The then)Father and mother in the same way. The same is the case with Wife & Husband. In general any sensible(average ) man treats his wife with Love and affection. Is a general expection by any Humanbeings. But there are Men who constantly tease their wives with or without the help of someone(his mother/second wife/keep etc)in Humanly for pettyreasons like( for Extra Dowry/character suspicion etc)to such an extant that the women loose her life by sucide. She at that time want to take revenge on him. But the poor lady cannot do any thing in this birth. In such cases yhe reverse will happen that the wife becomes husband and husband becomes wife and the vengence will be fullfilled. Bye More in next meet. Sd/sastry
Re: Classification of karma Dear ILits, part 4 The Next Important Attribute of Human Mind is "BUDDHI"(WISDOM).This is also called "VIVEKA". Mind is controlled by Buddhi. other wise Mind acts like Steering less vehicle. This is also called DISCRIMINATORY POWER. A civilised society is that in which the citizens behave with good wisdom. For example Nowadays we see that in some colleges students conduct "Ragging" over Freshers. They went to such an extant to force the freshers to undress and dance before them. They felt ashamed and commit sucide. Here the old students lost their wisdom and behave worse than beasts.Similar is the case with Roadside Romieos who tease Girlstudents on the public road itself. That is what was said in B.Geeta ch 3,sl 63.The meaning is "By loosing wisdom Man willdown Fall from his position(Ruins) In english there is a saying that "DISCRETION IS BETTER THAN VALOUR" .In all day to day activities we are using our wisdom. In our talking, behaving with others,in selecting artcles from grocessary, in behaving with members of our own family etc.The more we use Wisdom the more respect we get in the society.A man who is addicted to Alcohol,Tobacco, women, gambling and such other vices can be definitely certified as a person who lost his wisdom. By wisdom only Man is able to tame even wild animals and utilising their services. So Man must always Try to develope his wisdom. Wisdom cannot be confused with Intellegence .A simple Example. Once Lord Shiva put a Test for his Two sons VINAYAKA and KUMARA SWAMI asking them to go round the "Earth"once. Who ever comes First will be declared as a winner. Both of them agreed. Kumaraswami thought that He will be the winner undoubtedly as he has his Pea-cock Vahana is there for him which can Fly in the Sky with good speed. Vinayaka depressed a little bit as he posses "RAT" (Mooshika) as his vahana. The Race was started. Using his wisdom vinayaka completed one round (Pradakshina) To his parents before KUmaraSwami finished his Round for the earth.Vinayaka was declared as a winner. PRADAKSHINAM to father and mother is as equivalent to go round the EARTH. KuMARASWAMI taken only the litreal Meaning of prdakshinam but ViNayaka is able to catch the Spiritual and inner Meaning of PRADAKSHINAM.That is the wisdom. This is only one example There are number of examples for wisdom . All wise people need not be intellegent and vice versa. Intellegence is the way of takling situations. Every person posses wisdom but in different degrees from person to person.Wisdom can be developed By suitble Food and by The Association with other wise people..It is an essential quality of a Man.
Ari Shad Varga Dear ILits, part 1 Let us see This. ARI means Enemy,SHAD means Six,VARGA means Group. So Totally ARI SHAD VARGA means A GROUP OF SIX ENIMIES. Q.1) To whom they are enimies ? Ans: To all Human beings. Q.2) Who are They? ( What are their names?) Ans : They are :- 1) KAMA 2) KRODHA 3) LOBHA 4) MOHA 5)MADHA 6)MATSARYA Q.3) Where are they Exist? Ans:They are inside the human body.( Mind). That is why they are also called INTERNAL ENIMIES ( Anthah satru) Q.4) In what way they are enimies? Ans: Let us see one by one. The first one is KAMA. What is KAMA ? KAMA :-KAMA means DeSIRE ( wish).Every one will have desire right From His Birth to his death. Not only one desire but many number of desires. They will be created oneafter another endlessly. If one desire is fufilled another will arise. These are Related to The Age and Environement of the person. For example children have a desire to posses play things of the same type of their friend's in their sorrouindings.Women desire to have Ornaments ,clothes , Domestic artcles like Furniture,Utensils etc of the same Type of their Friend's.Similarly men have their own desires. These desires may be fulfilld in some families to their satisfaction or may not be Fullfilld Depending upon their Financial position. If The desires are fufiilled it is o.k.If not They can drop those desires for which they cannot afford it is also welland good.If they cannot drop, these desires will make them unhappy.such desires willpersist ' the person een to the next birth as VAASANAS. The word KAMA is used in general for SEX desire.ex kama sutra means Technical principles of sex act.Sex act is called kamakeli. Even a Boy or a girl to youth can learn these things from present day Movies by which they form Strong desires about sex and never hesitate to fullfill them even by unlawfulmeans. Thus the crime increases in the society. This willcontinue for generations together.Lord Buddha said that DEsires are the cause for doing sins and futhur Births So Wise people Cut their excessive desies during their life time .With out a desire man cannot live.so he can have affordable desires and can finish them in this life itself. They should not be carry forward to the next birth in the form of VAsANAS at the time of his Death. To be continued.... sd/sastry
