    Kenopanishad

    Dear ILITs,
The word KENA is derived from the First word of the Stanza of the First section of the UPANISHAD. The upanishad asks these questions at the outset. They are:-
1)Who directs the mind towards its Good or Bad objects?

2)Who directs MukyaPrana to discharge its duties?

    3) Who directs these Senses Eye,Ear etc towards the respective objects?
All these Questions have but a single Answer.-----He is evidently the SUPREME GOD(PARABRAHMAN)
Those Who Realise tht He is the director of The MIND,SENSES
and even the MUKYAPRANAS willattain LIBERATION.
The SUPREME is INFINITE and therefore cannot be fully
    comprehended.
Those who think that they know him fully do not Really know him as they have not comprehended his Infinite nature.

Those who think that they do not know,Know him fully know
him as they Realised His Infinite nature.

    Re: Kenopanishad

    Dear ILITs,
There is a Story in this Upanishad which runs as under:-
Once upon a time the Gods of Heaven scored a victory over the Demons through the grace of God.The fame and glory of God filled all the Quarters.Intoxicated by their Victory the GOds turned their face from God and said to each other. "The
Victory is indeed ours.we have vanquished the Demons by dint of own valour and shrewdness. It is for this reason the world worships us and sings songs commemorating our victory."in order to do a Good turn to the gods by humbling
their pride the supreme being or BRAHMAN sportively manifested with a wonderfulform, the very sight of which puzzeled the mind of the gods.In order to discover the Identity of the wonderful being in the form of a yaksha the gods approched their leader the god of Fire and said to him
"O! god of Fire you are the most glorious of all of us.plz go ascertain who this Yaksha really is".The god of fire gave his
asscent and assured all of the succecc of his mission .He then approched the Yaksha but was so overpowered by his Brilliance that he had no courage even to speak. At last the divine Yaksha acccosted the god of fire and who he was. The
god of fire is Replied "My name is widely known. they call me both by 'Agni" and "jataveda".This is allright replied th supreme being "O1god of fire what powers you posses and what you are capable of? The god of Fire replied "OYaksha
can reduce to Ashes what ever exsts in the earth."

    PART 3
    Dear ILITs,
Throwing a dry blade of grass before the god of FIRE The
SUPREMEBEING asked him to burn it.The god of Fire exerted all his strength tried every means to burn it but failed to do so. Hanging down his head in shame and without saying any word to YAKSHA he returned to gods with a sense of frustration writ large on his face and reported that he failed to Identify the Yaksha.
Now it is the turn of the wind god to approach Yaksha but he too had the same experience as the god of fire and could not utter a single word.
Indra the Lord of paradise was the next to approch the YAKSHA.finding him full of pride and egotism BRAHMA in the
form of YAKSHA disappeared from the scene in orde to crush Indra's pride. He did not agree to speak with him. though much abashed with the initial Rebuff Indra did not loose heart
and started meditation on god.Presently in the sky he noticed
Godess UMA the daughter of Himavat standing before him in
all her spiendour and adorned with her best of Ornaments.
Indra was delighted to see her he with great humility asked
her to discline the Identity of YAKSHA. Uma replied "The YAKSHA was no other than BRAHMA. It was his Victory that
had enhanced your Glory and made your objects of worship.
Give up the false pride and know that whatever happens is
    Attributable to him"
The rvalition made by UMA opened the eyes of INDRAHA and
humbled his pride.Awakened with the power of BRAHMA Indra
returned to his abode and imparted this knowledge to other
    gods like FIRE,VAYU etc
So BRAHMAN is only All powrful and all other gods attain power through him.

    Yaksha Prasnas

    Dear ILITs,
This Episode is found in "MAHABHARATA" Aranya Parva. These prasnas were put by YAKSHA to YUDISHTARA to test his
righteousness .Before knowing these prasnas (Questions) Let us try to know the story behind these questions.......................
The sons of 'PANDU' ( Pandavas) along with the wife of Draupadi are nearing the end of their 12 year Exile.in Forests. They are due to begin the 13 th and Final year in which they are required to spend Undiscovery(Ajnathavasa).
During their wandering they are Thirsty and Tired. The brothers sat down finally to take rest under the cool shade of a large Tree.YUDISTHARA the eldest brother Instructed NAKULA to climb a tree nearby to locate any Sign of Water in
the vicinity so that they could Quench their Thirst.Nakula did so and informed Yudisthara that there was indeed a cluster of traas not so far off and he could hear the cries of Water Cranes.Yudisthara suggested Nakula to go to the pond and fetch some water in a Quiver.
Nakula after waking a short distance located a beautiful spot a Crystalclear water in aLake sorrounded by trees, flowers and birds.Nakula was overjoyed. His first instinct was to enjoy a cooldrink himself as long as he was already there. so he decended to the waters edge and preparing to scoopup refreshing water. As he was about to do so he heard a strong and clear voice of warning.
"Do not touch that water my dear child. You must answer my questions." Nakula thought that he must be hearing things du to their fatigue and so he ignored that warning drank the water and immediately fell dead.
When Nakula did not return within a reasonable time
Yudisthara suggested SAHADEVA" Go and take a look what was delaying him?"
Sahadeva Arrived on the scene and was shocked to see Nakula laying as though asleep. Before doing any thing he thought he could Quench his thirst. He heard the same warning,Ignoring it and upon attempting to drink he also fell dead

    Duties

    Dear ILITs,
    MOTHER,....FATHER.....TEACHER.........and ..GUEST are perceivable Dieties..........................----------------------
As the MOON illuminates up in the night in the same way only one Good son who s wel educated and upright is a delight to the whole family
One virtuous son is eough than a hundred duds for only one
Moon can dispel the darkness and not the stars though they are in thousands
A wicked Son causes distress to the whole familly in the same way as one driedup burning tree needs the whole forest to Burn.

    Re: Yaksha Prasnas

    PART 2
Now it was ARJUNA'S turn to determine what had happened.
He proceeded with his 'Gadiva' bow in his hand suspecting some trouble.Upon arriving the Lake he was stunned to see his brothers lying though dead Again he tried to quench his thirst and heard the same warning. But Arjun did not ignore the warning. Instead he challenged the being to show himself and shot several Arrows in the direction from which the voice came.He only receive furthur and more stern Warning. Arjuna
challenged the voice by saying "Stop me if U can" proceeded to drink the water and fell down Dead. Some short time later
BHIMA arrived and he had the same fate.
Now YUDISTHARA was clearly worried wondering about the possibilities of harm befalling his dear and powerful Brothers
He decided to go in search of them. When he arrived at the lake he could not believe the dreadful sight before him.All four brothers dead on the ground.Yudisthara sat beside them
and lamented. All his hopes were shattered now.How would he ever be able to recover his last kingdom without the help of his able powerful brothers? He grieved for awhile and then began to look around to determine the reason for these Deaths. He said to himself. There are no signs of violence on this bodies. No footprints any where. The killer must be a super
    natural being.
He wondered if DHURYODHANA had had the pool poisned. He ruled it out because the faces of the dead brothers looked calm and serene. convincing himself that it
must have been some supernatural being approched the water's edge to fetch some water to begin the Last Rights for his brothers.
