ஸ்ரோத்ரம் சக்ஷு: ஸ்பர்ஸநம் ச ரஸநம் க்ராணமேவ ச !
அதிஷ்டாய மனஸ்சாயம் விஷயானுபவஸேவதே !! 9

இந்த ஜீவாத்மா செவி, கண், மெய், நாவு, நாசி, மனம் இவை அனைத்தையும் தன் வயப்படுத்திக் கொண்டு விஷய சுகங்களை அனுபவிக்கிறான்.

பிரகிருதியினிடம் குணங்களின் மூலமாக உள்ள தொடர்பின் காரணமாக ஜீவாத்மா ஐம்புலன்களுடன் கூட மனம், புத்தியின் சேர்க்கையுடன் விஷயசுகங்களை அனுபவிக்கிறான். ஆத்மா பரிசுத்தமானவன் முக்குணங்களுடன் தொடர்பற்றவன் என்றாலும் புலன்களின் சேர்க்கையால் விஷயசுகங்களை அனுபவிப்பதில் ஈடுபடுகிறான்.

உத்க்ராமந்தம் ஸ்திதம் வாபி புஞ்ஜாநம் வா குணாந்விதம் !
விமூடா நாநுபஸ்யந்தி பஸ்யந்தி ஜ்ஞாநசக்ஷுஷ: !! 10

இந்த ஜீவன் உடலைவிட்டுச் செல்லும்பொழுதோ, உடலில் தங்கியுள்ளபோதோ, விஷயசுகங்களை அனுபவிக்கும்பொழுதோ, முக்குணங்களுடன் கூடியிருக்கும் பொழுதோ மதியீனர்கள் ஆத்மாவின் உண்மையான நிலையைஅறிவதில்லை. இவர்கள் உடல் வேறு ஆத்மா வேறு என்ற உண்மையை அறியாமல் உடலும் ஆத்மாவும் ஒன்று என்று கருதுவதால் மதியீனர்கள் என்று கூறுகிறார்.விவேகஞானத்தைப் பெற்ற ஞானிகளே உடல் வேறு ஆத்மா வேறு என்ற உண்மையை தத்வரீதியாக அறிகிறார்கள்.

உண்மையான ஆத்மதத்துவத்தை விவேக ஞானமில்லாத அறிவிலிகள் அறியமாட்டார்கள். மேற்கூறிய எந்த நிலையில் இருப்பினும் விவேகஞானம் பெற்ற ஞானிகள் ஆத்மா நிர்மலமானவன், சுத்தன், எதிலும் ஒட்டாதவன், ஞானவடிவானவன் என்பதைப் புரிந்து கொள்ளுகிறார்கள்.

யதந்தோ யோகிநஸ்சைநம் பஸ்யந்த்யாஸ்மன்யவஸ்திதம் !
யதந்தோsப்யக்ருதாத்மநோ நைநம் பஸ்யந்த்யசேதஸ: !! 11

யோகிகள் தம் முயற்சியால் தம் இதயத்தில் உறைகின்ற இந்த ஆத்மாவைத் தத்துவரீதியாக உணர்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் முயற்சி செய்தாலும் ஆத்மசுத்தியில்லாதவர்கள் ஆத்மாவைப் பற்றிய உண்மையான அறிவைப் பெறுவதில்லை.

பரமாத்மாவைச் சரணமாகப் பற்றி கர்மயோகத்தை அனுஷ்டித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கும் ஞானிகள் பரமாத்மாவைத் தன் இதயத்திலுறைந்திருப்பவனாகக் காண்கின்றனர். அவ்வாறன்றி கர்மயோகத்தை மட்டும் அனுஷ்டித்துக் கொண்டு சித்தசுத்தியில்லாதவர்கள் எவ்வளவு முயற்சி செய்தாலும் ஆத்மசாக்ஷாத்காரத்தைப் பெற இயலாது.

யதாதித்யகதம் தேஜோ ஜகத்பாஸயதேsகிலம் !
யச்ச்ந்த்ரமஸி யச்சாக்நௌ தத்தேஜோ வித்தி மாமகம் !! 12

உலகத்தைப் பிரகாசிக்கச் செய்யும் சூரியனுடைய ஒளியும், மற்றும் சந்திரனிடத்தும் அக்னியிடத்தும் எந்த ஒளி உள்ளதோ அந்த ஒளியை என்னுடையதாக அறிவாய்.

உலகத்தைத் தன் ஒளியினால் பிரகாசிக்கச் செய்யும் சூரியனுக்கு என்னுடைய அருளினாலேயே ஒளி கிடைத்தது. அவ்வாறே தண்ணொளி வீசி இரவில் உலகிற்கு ஒளியை வழங்கும் சந்திரனின் குளுமையான ஒளியும் என்னருளாலே வழங்கப்பட்டது. ஒளியுடன் வெப்பத்தையும் அளிக்கும் அக்னிக்கும் ஒளியும் வெப்பமும் என்னருளாலேயே கிடைக்கப் பெற்றது.

சூரியன், சந்திரன், அக்னி ஆகிய மூவரிடத்திடமிருந்தும் பிரகாசிக்கும் ஒளியானது என்னுடைய ஒளியின் ஓரம்சமேயாகும் என்பதாகக் கூறுகிறார்.

Every human being should introspect and do the following:

Believe law of human life is to achieve Bliss
Allow Atman (Kernel) to be in control
Eliminate unending demands of the tools (Shell)
Understand pleasure or sorrow found in the world is caused by vasanas and nothing but reflection of feelings within
Recognize that human beings are driven by vasanas of their own
Practice self-observation through analyzing each experience

We need to make a concerted effort to overcome waking state (maya or materialization), dreaming state (maya within maya or vibration) and deep-sleep state (temporary sanity or awareness or radiation) and move to reality (Turya) state (self-luminous).

Verses 8 - Chapter 13 of Bhagavad Gita provides the qualities of person with spiritual knowledge and they are:

humility - unpretentious - harmless - forgiveness - uprightness - service to Preceptor - purity - steadfastness - self-control - dispassion towards sense-objects - absence of egoism - insight into the pain of birth/death/old age/ disease - non-attachment - free from infatuation to kith & kin and material objects - balanced mind for desirable & undesirable events - unflinching devotion to self through Yoga - resorting to solitary place - disinterest in gathering - constancy in self-knowledge - perception of the end of true knowledge.

A Self-realized person is one who discovered the Supreme Self "Atman" by shedding all vasanas, thoughts, desires and attachments and no longer identifies with physical body, mind and intellect. They will have qualities of selflessness, universal love, self-sufficient, knowledgeable, cheerful, dynamic, fulfilled and blissful, demonstrate variety of extrinsic conduct and create their impact in the world.

To achieve the above feet we need the Grace of the Supreme Lord and understand that He is Ekam (One without the second), Advayam (Non-dual), Nirakara (formless), Sarvagatam (All-pervading), Nirguna (attributeless), Aksharam (imperishable), Aja (unborn), Nitya (Eternal), Nirvikara (Changeless), Nirmala (Stainless), Anantam (Infinite), Gnanam (Knowledge), Anandam (Bliss), Turiyam (Fourth) and Achintiyam (Inconceivable).

Dear Viswamitra,
Thanks for bringing out the gist of Kshethrakshethragnya vibaga yoga, in which verses 7 to 11 explains the qualities required to obtain self realization.

One who understands the difference between the body, the soul and the Supersoul beyond them both attains liberation from this material world.

Dear Sriniketan,
Viswa is doing a wonderful job through his fbs and I am very greatful to him.
Though we do self retrospection we do not give importance to it due to our vasanas. To get rid of the vasanas we should surrender ourselves to Paramathma and seek His benevolence.
