While posting this I remembered the "sugar babies" scheme, set up by an MIT student. This is akin to a crowd-funding scheme. Young girls and some boys are just so scared of the cost of tuition in colleges, and the burden of student loan liabilities they'd have at graduation, millions of them (allegedly) had joined this scheme to get matched with wealthy benefactors. These WB's are usually men (sugar daddies), who would require the attention of their sponsored's on an occasional basis. This news had been reported on dutch television ( that's how I came to know ) as if every college student in America is somehow living in a red-light zone like they have in Amsterdam, because we have a huge college loan crisis in the nation.
