Reduce or Control Cholesterol

    This is my Hubby's report reg.cholest... Bold one are high level...

    1.TOTAL CHOL.-----178
    2.TRIGLY.----------220
    3.HDL--------------33
    4.LDL--------------124
    5.VLDL-------------44
    6.CHOL/HDL RATIO---5.4

    Choles. level is little bit high...i know must avoid oily and deep fry foods and fatty foods...Take more fibre content foods...

    is any medicine like allopathy/ homeo/ siddha helps to immedi. reduce the choles. level...am worried lot.. please suggest me soon...:drowning

    Go natural, include flax seeds or Chia seeds in his meal everyday... You can also give him fish oil capsules....

    LDL ( low density lipoprotein) is bad cholestrol. It gets deposited in the walls of artery and creates blocks, hence high risk.

    HDL
    (High density Lipoprotein) is good cholestrol as it prevents flow in artery getting blocked, hence lower risk.

    HDL food
    : Nuts like almond, walnut which has polyunsaturated fatty acids. Fish omega 3 fatty acid, high fibre food like oats, bran etc, Dark chocolate helps increase HDL.

    Garlic is very good in lowering bad cholestrol. So include it in various forms in diet. Pickled one (salted. Not chilly one) is good. Also you can boil few pods of garlic in milk or water and can be taken.

    Geen chilli if used in nominal quantity is good.

    Brisk walking, Ginger lemon tea with honey, plenty of hot water is also good.

    Avoid transfat in food. Avoid eating out. Avoid fatty non-veg items.

    Wine in limited quantities also is considered to be good for heart.

    Give him boiled legumes, fruits.

    Reduce rice and increase vegetable, pulses, Lentils, cereals and legumes in food.

    you can take fibogel( Preferably Naturolex) with Dr suggestion . Mainly to reduce the bad cholestrol

    Include chia seeds in his diet, it helps..also reduce transfat foods,oil intake

    Reduse oil content and have grean tea(tetly brand is good).take badam everyday
